Our Wedding

It all began in the summer of 2013 at Health Science Day at Heidelberg University. That’s where we first met, quickly becoming friends and even sharing dinner that very night. Despite our early connection—and a shared circle of friends at the Berg—we never dated. In fact, we didn’t spend much time together at all.Fast forward to the spring of 2020, when our friendship was unexpectedly rekindled (we’ll let you guess who reached out first!). What one of us saw as a thoughtful message with a plan, the other initially viewed as a random note from an old friend. Naturally, it didn’t go very far—at first. But with a little determination, and a second (and third!) message, something finally clicked. Suddenly, there was more to this story.Once we were both on the same page, the conversation flowed easily, and we planned our first date at the Cleveland Botanical Gardens. It was a wonderful day, and before it even ended, we were already talking about when we could see each other again. That led to Allie driving to Tennessee to visit Greg for an entire week. After such an amazing time, Allie returned home to Ohio—but not for long. Soon after, she made her way back to Tennessee, this time for an entire month. Living together during that time confirmed what we already felt: we had found something truly special.When Greg’s internship came to an end, we both moved back to Ohio—briefly. Greg soon accepted a job in Louisiana, and before long, Allie decided to take a spontaneous trip south to visit him. After just one weekend, she knew she wanted to stay. We spent a year and a half building a life together in Louisiana, making unforgettable memories, before eventually moving to Cincinnati.On May 3, 2024, we returned to Louisiana to visit friends—or so one of us thought. That evening, we headed to the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain for dinner and decided to take a walk along the lakeshore beforehand. The walk led Allie to a beautiful oak tree draped in Spanish moss. Waiting beneath it was Greg, surrounded by rose petals, candlelight, and Allie’s favorite champagne. With our closest friends nearby, Greg asked the most important question of his life—and Allie said “yes.”Some of our favorite memories have come from traveling and exploring new places side by side. No matter where we go, we always find ways to laugh, be a little goofy, and enjoy every moment. At the heart of it all, what we love most is the same: the kindness we share, the care we show one another, and the way we make each other feel supported and at home.From college friends to building a life across multiple states, our story has been full of unexpected turns that led us exactly where we were meant to be. We’re so excited for this next chapter and can’t wait to celebrate it with the people we love most.

Malery and Allie have been part of each other’s lives since their babysitting days, sharing years of memories, laughter, and life’s biggest moments along the way. From childhood to adulthood, their friendship has grown and evolved, remaining a constant source of support, fun, and unconditional love. Through every chapter, Malery has been someone Allie could always count on—whether for encouragement, honest advice, or simply a good laugh. Malery knows Allie better than almost anyone, and having her stand by her side as Matron of Honor means more than words can express. We are so incredibly grateful for her unwavering friendship, loyalty, and love.

As Greg’s younger brother, Anthony has been by his side through every stage of life. Growing up together, they’ve shared everything from childhood memories and friendly competition to the unbreakable bond that only brothers can have. Through the years, Anthony has been a constant source of support, loyalty, and encouragement, always showing up when it matters most. Greg has been incredibly proud to watch him grow into the person he is today, and having him stand beside him as Best Man is especially meaningful. We are so grateful to have Anthony by our side and can’t imagine this day without him.

Jen was the very first friend Allie made in Louisiana, and they hit it off right away. From the beginning, she welcomed us with open arms, bringing us into family holidays, gatherings, and everyday moments that quickly made Louisiana feel like home. She also made sure we got the full Louisiana experience, including our introduction to crawfish boils, drive-thru daiquiris and Carnival Season (Mardi Gras).  Her kindness, warmth, and the way she includes everyone around her mean so much to us. We’re so grateful for her friendship and for the role she’s played in some of our favorite memories from those years.

Jennifer Fouquet

Austin quickly became a great friend to both of us during our time in Louisiana. As Jen’s husband, he was part of the warm welcome that made us feel at home right away, and he and Greg bonded easily over time. From get-togethers and crawfish boils to everyday hangs, Austin has been part of so many of our favorite memories there. Greg is grateful for his friendship, his easygoing nature, and the way he’s always made us feel like family. We’re so happy to have him standing by Greg’s side on our wedding day.

Lala was one of Allie's roommates and has been one of her closest friends since college. From late-night talks to everyday adventures, they’ve shared so many core memories that have shaped such a special friendship. Known as the life of the party, Lala’s outgoing personality and social butterfly spirit bring energy and fun wherever she goes. Allie is so grateful for her constant friendship, laughter, and the many unforgettable moments they’ve shared over the years.

Kyle is married to Greg’s cousin Rachel and is someone we’ve been lucky to know since our college days. With countless moments spent together over the years, Kyle has become a truly meaningful part of our lives. Always supportive and easygoing, he brings a great sense of humor wherever he goes and is someone we can always count on. Kyle’s presence has been a constant source of laughter and support. We are so grateful to have him standing by our side on our wedding day—even if he’s a Michigan fan.

Rachel—also known as Smitty—has been part of Allie’s life since first grade and is truly more like a sister than a friend. From growing up together to living together through different chapters of life, they’ve shared countless memories that have shaped an unbreakable bond. Fiercely loyal and always protective, Smitty is a true ride-or-die in every sense. Allie is beyond grateful for her constant love, support, and friendship, and couldn’t imagine this day without her by her side.

Rachel Smith

CJ has been one of Greg’s closest friends since their college days, when they were roommates. CJ has remained one of the people we talk to regularly and truly consider one of our best friends. Known as the life of the party, he brings endless laughter, energy, and positivity wherever he goes. Whether it’s celebrating milestones or simply showing up when it matters most, CJ has always been there for us. We are so grateful to have him standing by our side on our wedding day.

Keith has been an incredibly important mentor to Greg throughout his career and someone we both deeply admire. Down-to-earth and genuine, Keith has been a steady source of guidance and support over the years. He was there at the very beginning of our love story in Tennessee, making his role in our wedding even more special. We are truly honored to have him officiate our ceremony and be part of such a meaningful moment in our lives.

Guests are respectfully requested to dress in ALL-BLACK black tie attire. Tuxedos are optional; formal black suits are welcome, with white dress shirts permitted. Women are encouraged to wear black formal dresses.

Transportation will be provided to and from the venue for guests staying at the three hotels with reserved room blocks. Shuttle service is complimentary; while tipping the driver is optional, it is appreciated. Please note that Uber and Lyft are not available in the area. Guests staying at other accommodations are welcome to use the shuttle service; however, you will need to walk to or park at one of the three designated hotels.

Shop at Coblentz Chocolate Company for sweets and treats, and visit Walnut Creek Cheese &amp; Market for baked goods, homemade breads, fresh cheeses, and deli items. Stop by the Walnut Creek Amish Flea Market for a variety of handmade goods, including clothing, quilts, unique food items, furniture, and décor. Be sure to visit Der Dutchman for a delicious Amish-cooked lunch or dinner.
