From the basement of Champ's to Forever with You

Lexi &amp; Matt met at Penn State in 2017. Her earliest memory of meeting him was when he helped make her LinkedIn - of course. Over the next few years, Matt would move to Philadelphia and start at Deloitte, with Lexi 2-years behind and following in his footsteps. They would regularly stay in-touch, catch-up on Matt's infamous road trips, and help Lexi figure out where to move post-graduation. It was no doubt that Philadelphia would be her answer. On a fateful night (Nov. 13th, 2021,) Lexi &amp; Matt ran into each other in the basement of Champ's - a Penn State favorite bar. Lexi's "hey dude!" would soon become a running joke, but it made an impression, for their first date would be within the week.

[Lexi &amp; her friend Jackie at Champ's, with Matt in the background] With both of them living in Philadelphia, it made it easy to explore the city together- sharing their favorite restaurants (like Monk's Cafe.) While Philadelphia was the start of their love story, Matt had also signed a lease for New York City. The next two years were comprised of many train rides &amp; memories of exploring a brand new city- together. They'd navigate their mid-distance time with many trips - their favorite being the Lake George Hot Air Balloon festival, as well as the Florida Keys &amp; Italy. By September of 2023, Matt &amp; Lexi would take the next step &amp; move-in together - in Philadelphia. They somehow combined two lives, their many t-shirts &amp; coffee mugs into their new one-bedroom apartment. Sunday nights were no longer filled with "see-you-soons" &amp; instead, filled with burgers &amp; fries from their favorite restaurant. When April of 2024 came around, Matt &amp; his mom, Leslie, had the ring picked out and ready for the St. Thomas vacation. Sean cuffed his new pants, Leslie picked out his new shirt, and Matt was ready to pop the question. Matt hired a photographer &amp; prepared a picnic on the beach for the inevitable question, to which Lexi quickly responded "Yes." Many ask - did Lexi know it was going to happen? The answer, quite simply, is yes. Lexi wondered what other errands Matt &amp; his mother went on every week that she wasn't allowed to go on, why she couldn't touch Matt's backpack while packing for vacation, and what the box was in Matt's pocket after he ironed his shirt for 20 minutes. All of their love story comes back to one place- Philadelphia. Their first date, their first "I love you," and their home. We could think of no better place than Philadelphia to share the start of our forever with, with you.

This is our "Sunday Tradition" spot. We recommend the Monk's mussels, Cheddy Burger, and of course, FRIES! This spot is famous for their beer list - check it out! As FYI - they don't take reservations and smaller parties are recommended.
