Our Wedding

Silas and his cousins were (and still are) regulars at Lennox Irish pub. Alex had recently moved from Camrose, AB, to Calgary to pursue schooling and began working at Lennox Irish Pub as a part-time job.&nbsp;Silas had drawn Alex's attention several times, yet due to her shyness, she hesitated to initiate a conversation. It was later revealed during their relationship that Silas had been captivated by Alex long before she became aware of his presence. Fast forward a few months, when Silas' cousins came in once and invited Alex and her roommates to a fire in early September. They were all new to Calgary and were looking forward to meeting new Christian friends. During that fire, a spark occurred (no pun intended, hehe) between Alex and Silas when they locked eyes across the fire. Alex realized her deep affection for the young man at that moment, envisioning a wonderful future together. The warmth of his gaze and the gentle inclination of his smile evoked a profound sense of comfort and belonging within her. Little did she know, Silas shared these same feelings. Alex left with an Irish goodbye that night, and Silas immediately messaged her to show his concern as to why she left without saying goodbye to him. Alex and Silas clicked instantly and started dating on September 14, 2022. Since then, so much love, laughter, and adventures have been experienced and Alex and Silas' love grew immensely throughout the time they were together which led to their engagement on May 26, 2024.

How Do I get to Alex & Silas' wedding?

Willow Lane Barn https://maps.app.goo.gl/zTKcPa1fv844JJJN8 Adress-&nbsp;33117, Range Rd 290, Bowden, AB T4H 1P2 Canada You will turn onto a country road from the hiway which will lead you to a large brown barn. There will be wedding signs as well as a property sign that says 'Willow Lane Barn'

Where do I park at the venue?

When you turn onto the property there will be a grassy area next to a fence on the left, you can park along there in an orderly fashion. There will also be signs pointing to the parking area. there is two driveways, please drive into the second driveway! there will be a sign that says “Willow Lane Barn”

Can I bring my Kids?

We are so excited to celebrate with you! If your kid's names are on the invitations (in your email) that means they are invited as well. There is a loft upstairs in the barn with couches and areas for families with smaller children who need to relax.

What is the dress code?

Formal! That includes nice dresses, dress shirts, dress pants (Suit jackets &amp; ties are optional).

Is smoking permitted at the venue?

There is a designated space for smoking by the fire pit and FIRE PIT ONLY located by the gazebo across from the entrance of the barn. The owners have asked that smoking is kept in that area only and that the butts are placed into the firepit. All butts found after clean-up will result in a fine.

Are there pets allowed at the wedding?

We kindly ask that all pets be left at home. The venue has made it clear to have no pets on the property to maintain the cleanliness of the venue.

What date should I RSVP by?

Please RSVP you and your family, and any plus ones (indicated by your name on the invitation) by April 5, 2025. The date can be extended until the 15th if needed.

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Lord willing, the weather will be a beautiful spring day, so the ceremony will be held outside. If the weather is not suitable, the ceremony will take place inside a sheltered area. The reception following will be held in the barn.

Will there be a shuttle service from the venue?

Yes, there will be shuttle buses that can bring you to your hotel. However, that will be a cost paid by the guests who use it. Information regarding the shuttle will be located inside the barn. *Please be responsible and do not drink and drive*

Will there be an open bar at the wedding?

There will be a toonie bar located inside the venue that will be open start of cocktail hour and through the night. Please. have cash available. *IDs are needed for proof of age* There will also be pop, juice, coffee, and water available for those who do not want an alcoholic beverage

What time does the party end?

The party is everyone's favorite part! However, the owners are very strict in the fact that everyone has to be off the property by 1 am. Therefore we ask people to start leaving by 12:30 am :)

Can I take pictures during the ceremony ?

We kindly ask that the ceremony be a no phone zone. We have hired a lovely photographer to capture our day and we do not want others phones in the way. However, after the ceremony, take as many pictures as you want! and post away hehe.

Can I Bring gifts from other than the registry?

We have set up a registry with amazon that is attached to this website with some basic household needs and wants. However, if you find something that you think suits us or you are enthusiastic in getting us then we appreciate all gifts! Cash gifts are also always welcomed hehe *note that you can change the shipping address to your own address after you select a gift* this way you can bring it to the wedding!

What time should I show up?

The ceremony is at 2:00 pm so preferably before 2:00 pm. You are welcome to show up early and wander the property. However, 15 minutes before the ceremony is appropriate.

Please make sure to book a room as soon as possible to ensure that you get a room at this location. There are other hotels available around the area, however, this hotel has rooms blocked for the weekend to ensure guests have a place to stay.

We understand that waiting for the meal can be a long-awaited time, so please enjoy the cocktail hour that is set up. The venue has supplied some yard games to make the stay as enjoyable as possible.There will also be refreshments and snacks included during the cocktail hour as well.You can venture into the vast area of Olds Alberta, but you are so welcome to enjoy the cocktail hour set up at the Willow Lane Barn (location of the wedding). There will be signs pointing to the appropriate area.
