Our Wedding

We first met in 2017 at a wedding—how poetic is that? I was there celebrating my close friend Yelitza (we’ve been friends since high school), and Robert was attending as a guest of his lifelong friend Jose—who, fun fact, will now be his best man! We hit it off right away, dated for a bit, and then life took us in different directions. But as fate would have it, the universe wasn’t quite done with us. In 2019, we reconnected—and this time, everything just felt right. Since then, we've traveled, grown, laughed (a lot), supported each other through every season, and even became dog parents in 2020 to our crazy little Frenchie, Rex, who’s been a constant source of joy, chaos, and cuddles. And then—one of the most unforgettable moments yet—Robert proposed in my favorite city, Chicago. Both of his best men, Jason and Jose, were there with their significant others, Yelitza and Alina—and the best part? They all knew the entire time! They helped keep the proposal a complete surprise. What was supposed to be his birthday trip turned into our engagement trip. We spent the day doing all the fun things we love, and then he got down on one knee on Navy Pier. It was pure magic. And my ring? It’s absolutely perfect—more beautiful than I could have ever hoped for. He knows me so well and did such an amazing job. I still find myself staring at it all the time, completely in awe. We’ve already shared so many beautiful memories, and now we’re beyond excited to begin this next chapter—surrounded by the people we love most.

Alexia and Bee met back in high school. At first, they were just two familiar faces passing in the hall—nothing more than quick hellos and the occasional small talk. It wasn’t until after graduation that things changed. One random hangout turned into hours of conversation, and pretty soon, they were making plans every chance they got.
From then on, it was basically impossible to see one without the other. They were either on late-night drives blasting music, having full-on car karaoke sessions, or staying up all night at sleepovers talking until the sun came up. They could turn any regular day into an adventure, whether it was quoting Friends for the hundredth time, planning their next Disney World trip, or just hanging out with music playing in the background.
Somewhere between all those shared playlists, roller coaster rides, and “we’re just running to Target” trips that lasted hours, their friendship turned into something unshakable. They became “Bee and Alexia”—always mentioned together, always there for each other, and always ready to make new memories.

From the moment we met in high school, our friendship just clicked, like we had known each other forever. We have been through every stage of life together—teenage adventures, big life changes, and everything in between—always staying by each other’s side. No matter how busy life gets, we make it a point to talk every single day, sharing everything from big milestones to the smallest details. Our bond is more than just friendship; it’s family, which is why Jeanette made Alexia the Godmother of her son. Alexia and Erika met back in 2010 working at Larkin Hospital. Erika would work as the hospital operator and Alexia worked in the pharmacy. We would be made co-bridesmaids which really made us grow close. enjoyed our 20s to the FULLEST! We've done so many trips to different cities,impromptu Disney trips, restaurant runs, etc....all with some amazing people along the way. We have been through so much you could write a book. All the late nights, heartbreaks, wild crazy adventures and now each other's weddings. No one can ever replace all the memories we've made!! - Erika Aguirre

Reflecting on over 22 years of friendship, I am profoundly grateful for the lifelong bond I share with Alexia. We first crossed paths in the halls of St. Brendan during our freshman year, and since then, we’ve navigated the complexities of life together—celebrating joys, enduring losses, and sharing countless unforgettable moments. Alexia’s unwavering selflessness and boundless generosity have been a constant source of support, even during times when life led us on separate paths. Her presence in my life, and now in my daughter Mia’s, is a cherished gift. It is with immense honor that I stand beside my dear friend as a bridesmaid on her wedding day, celebrating the love she has found with Robert.

Interestingly, Robert and I first met years ago as kindergarteners at C.E.A., a testament to the serendipitous connections life weaves. Witnessing these two wonderful individuals unite is truly heartwarming. - Alyssa Ruiz

Over the last 30 years I’ve had the honor to call Robert, a best friend, someone I consider brother, and a Sirloin. 
He is someone that I’ve always been able to count on for any of life’s challenges, especially if it involves a engine, and whenever I think back to the best memories of my life, Robert has also, always been there to celebrate with me. I am so proud of the man he is, with Alexia (and Rex) by his side. Her love and unconditional support has been evident from the start. Alina and I look forward to celebrating this new chapter in both of their lives.

Jose and Robert have known each other since starting PreK at Conchita and it has been a wonderful ride. Robert’s best quality is his dependability - he is a friend that is always up for an adventure. He is a trusting friend who will do anything for you, including listening to you when you tell him to climb a tree and then falling off only to get a concussion (sorry!). Jose has two sisters, and a brother in Robert.  Yeli, Tristan, Phoenix, and I wish Alexia and Robert all the happiness they deserve in their life together.

John and Robert have been friends since meeting their sophomore year at Archbishop Coleman Carroll High School, and it’s been nothing short of an incredible journey. Robert’s best quality as a friend to John is his dependability—he’s always there, ready for whatever adventure lies ahead. He’s the type of friend you can count on for anything, whether it was needing to be driven home from a night out, most memorable one after a Halloween party to trying to sneak Robert into his house without his parents finding out only for him to walk into his parents bedroom giving himself away, to offering support and always willing to lend a helping hand no matter the task. 

Through the years, Robert has become more than just a friend—he’s family. On behalf of all of us—Barbie, Aria, and I—we wish Alexia and Robert endless happiness, laughter, and love as they begin this next chapter of their lives together.
