Picture of Our Story
What started as a bound to be awkward, group blind date to a Star Wars movie, turn into what we are now. I was told by Shaun (the best man) that if we were to go watch the new Star Wars, I’d need to find a date. After being shot down by one girl, I was completely content with going by myself. After some debate, another buddy took over with a classic “I got this, don’t worry” and sets me up with a girl I had never met in my life. I reluctantly agreed it was fine and I’d give it a shot. Meeting Alexis initially, her smile stuck out to me the most- it was a huge, happy smile! The date went amazing to my disbelief. We talked easily, laughed a lot, she asked questions, and was a genuinely likable person! I knew she was the one I would marry right then. I had a gut feeling words can’t explain. Naturally, the date came to an end, we said our goodbyes, and I didn’t get her number being too much of a chicken to ask. Fortunately, Instagram had my back and I was able to message her on there (2 days later) and she was more than happy to give her number. A year and 6 months later, I decided to buy the ring I had been saving up for. I remember going into the store with the “perfect” ring in mind only to find out it was sold out with no way of getting it ordered. The saleswoman asked me what all I was looking for in a ring and after explaining she told me how she had the perfect one for me. It was the last in the store and one of the last to be made, this ring was actually perfect! I bought it that day and hid it in the air conditioning closet that she passed daily. I knew she would never look in there for any reason! Me being bad at keeping secrets, it ate at me daily that it was right there! After a year and 8 months of dating I decided it was time to ask her to marry me! I had the ring, I got the blessings, and made a plan. After her birthday dinner, we rode around going to every date we had been on. We ended at the place of our first kiss and I had the ring stashed about 30 feet away from the exact spot. As we walked over to the area, I did my best to persuade her 30ft over knowing the real reason I had to get her over. After debate and persuasion, she came over and I proposed- she said yes! We haven’t regretted it since and I consider myself to be blessed daily.
