Is there a wedding registry?
Yes - we are registered at Amazon and Crate&Barrel. We also have a honeyfund if you want to gift cash instead. For your convenience, simply clicking on the "registry" tab on the top right will direct you to all gift options with links.
Is there a dress code?
Black tie optional, elevated garden cocktail attire. We suggest that men wear a suit or dress shirt with tie and women wear a midi or floor length dress. Colors are encouraged for our springtime wedding! Please avoid creams, ivory, or white-based patterns typically reserved for the bride. Please also avoid the color yellow. NO jeans, sneakers, hats, or anything that would be considered casual wear.
Can I take a plus one?
Due to limited space, we unfortunately cannot accommodate plus ones for our guests. Those invited will be named on your invitation card. We appreciate your understanding with this.
Are children allowed?
Due to limited numbers, we hope you can understand that our wedding will be an adult only event with the exception of children in the wedding party. This includes kids of all ages. We hope you take this as an opportunity for a date night out!
Are there accommodations for guests?
We have allocated a block of rooms specifically for our guests at the Loews Arlington hotel. These rooms are reserved at a discounted rate, so book while they're available by using the link provided under the "Travel" tab on this website.
**PLEASE NOTE: the Loews Arlington Hotel is different than LIVE! by Loews. Please make sure to book at the Loews Arlington Hotel!
Will there be an open bar?
Yes! We want everyone at our wedding to enjoy our night with us! To celebrate we are offering free beer and wines, along with a surprise signature cocktail. Please drink responsibly and take advantage of our room block at the hotel, or use a rideshare app.
Is parking available?
Yes! The hotel is offering valet to all of our wedding guests for a discounted rate of $20 per car for the length of our event. Should you choose to stay overnight, the rate would be $38. There is a city parking garage next door, however rates vary WIDELY, depending on events going on in the area (i.e. Rangers games), so using the valet service is encouraged if you don't like surprises.
Can I take pictures/videos during the ceremony?
We are having an "unplugged ceremony". We kindly ask that all phones and cameras are put away during the ceremony. We have hired a professional to capture this special moment for us and we don't want any phones/cameras/flashes to disrupt photos. Once the ceremony is concluded, feel free to take as many photos and videos as you please!
Is the ceremony and reception in the same location?
Yes- the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception are all in the same space. The ceremony and cocktail hour will be outdoors, and the reception will be indoors. No need to drive to another location!
What time should I show up?
The ceremony will start promptly at 4:30 pm on the 3rd floor West Terrace. We ask that you arrive no later than 4pm so that you may have time to park and to be directed to the location in the hotel, mingle, and find a seat before the proceedings begin. If you are running late, we kindly request that you do not walk down the aisle once the ceremony has begun, and kindly wait off to the side until the ceremony is finished before joining us.
Is there uneven ground or grass?
No, the venue is on a terrace with an attached indoor component for the reception. There is no grass, gravel, or rock to be concerned of. Ladies feel free to wear whatever heel without worry!
How does seating work?
The ceremony itself is open seating, with the exception of those with reserved signs. These seats will have name designations for the bride & grooms immediate family.
As for the reception, we are carefully arranging table seating for dinner so our guests can mingle. There will be a seating chart viewable upon entrance into the reception space to guide you to your seat.
If I have another question not answered here, who do I contact?
If you have any other questions or concerns feel free to text or call me (Alexis) directly. I appreciate you taking the time to read through this and I hope to alleviate any concerns you might have before the day.
