Brae and Alexis both attended Jimtown High School. Actually, in junior high they would occasionally talk on AIM (until Alexis had to get off so her dad could use the house phone ha!) but never in person. That changed when one day Brae randomly texted Alexis during their sophomore year of high school. They hung out for the first time and watched a ND football game. At one point Alexis said, "I think you're crazy" and Brae replied, "Well I think you should go out with me". Of course, she said yes.

The day after Alexis' birthday, Brae took her out for dinner at one of their favorite places, Olive Garden. During dinner Brae kept talking about how he couldn't wait to get married and start their lives together. After dinner, he asked Alexis if she wanted to go on a walk at Notre Dame. On the way Brae was texting Kam. Brae told Alexis that Kam suggested that he ditches the walk to go golfing instead. So, Alexis grabs Brae's phone to text Kam back, and Brae freaks out.... Alexis had no idea, but Brae was really trying to set up pictures for the proposal! When they got to campus, Alexis was being a brat because she wanted to know why she couldn't text Kam. Brae was trying to avoid the conversation so he said that he left his phone in the car, however a few minutes later she saw him pull it out of his pocket! Brae kept insisting that we let it go.... so we kept walking. The walk through campus was absolutely perfect. Then, Brae stopped in front of the Golden Dome and dropped to one knee. He popped the question and she said YES! (oh and Kam was there in the bushes capturing it all on camera!)
