Alexis was out for long over due birthday drinks with her sister Brittany and a friend when in walked Mike. As mike was alone the group asked if Mike would care to join them at their table. Out skidded the chair and off went mikes jacket as he chose the seat next to Alexis, she was immediately smitten as her cheeks burned red and her eyes lit up. When the night neared a close Brittany had went drink for drink with the belated birthday girl and she was not able to drive Alexis home... " I can give you a lift if you want " Mike said. At first Alexis was a little skeptical of the ride as she had only just officially met this guy and only seen him at the fitness center she worked at at the time , but his friendly reassuring smile was apparently enough and she let him drive her home.

Fast forward to 2 weeks later when Mike FINALLY messaged Alexis on Facebook and so began the whirlwind that was Lex and Mike. It eventually came to a point where one was never without the other except when they were at work and even then they spent the day texting and snapchatting each other to make the day go by faster and faster.

& finally after 9 long months MIKE FINALLY STOPPED INTRODUCING ALEXIS AS JUST A FRIEND!!

Alexis and Mike Welcome a beautiful daughter Layla Adeline-Rose Henderson.

The couple moved in with Alexis' parents in preparation for their brand new home being built.

The family of 3 moved in and planted their roots in a small but incredibly charming subdivision of Wyecombe.

THE BIG QUESTION !

The story you've all been waiting for .... It was a Friday morning at their Wyecombe home when Mike came into the bathroom while Alexis was getting ready for work . He intently and impatiently watched and waited as Alexis finished up her mascara and as she turned around to ask what Mike was waiting for he asked for a hug. This wasn't something out of the ordinary as Mike is such a softy;) so she gave him a good squeeze and reminded him to be careful not to get mascara on his face . Mike then proceeded to say " I have a question for you." Alexis smiled and said " What? what what what " as Mike asked " You know I love you right" at this point Alexis was starting to wonder what he might have done . Mike then started to get onto bended knee and ask her to Marry him. There was tears and chuckles as Alexis guided Mike to the correct hand to place the ring.

It was later discussed that Mike had attempted more than once..

Attempt #1 : Ipad in place to video tape and Layla and Mike at the kitchen table with Jenga set up and ready to play. Mike had wrote " Will You Marry Me?" on one of the tiles and was so excited that he had executed the perfect cute and grand gesture. Nothing could possibly go wrong... or so he thought.. Alexis having had a rough day just wanted to " go downstairs and workout" she didn't " have time to play a silly game.

Attempt #2 : The couple enjoys playing hangman everytime they go out for dinner , they were out at Kelsey's Tillsonburg for dinner when they realized it was wing night and it was PACKED. Mike had planned to make it part of the game but as he surveyed the room he soon realized if he were to get down on one knee he would have a mans arse right in his face.... so that was a no go.
