It was her first week of college, he was a sophomore. Her plans were to make no ties and he had a girlfriend.

One night during Lex’s first week at college, she and her freshman year roommate decided to have people over. Matt, one of their new friends, had asked if he could bring one of his basketball teammates with him. Matt had dared Lex to call this friend of his, “Cyrus” knowing this was not his real name, and that he hated it. So when Silas walked in the room, her first words to him were “Hi Cyrus” thinking she was being funny. Although, this backfired, since it took Lex weeks to finally pronounce his real name correctly.

Within the following weeks Silas made a “Jersey Shore” Snapchat group chat, with Lex and her college roommate. This was in hopes to continue talking to Lex since she did in fact stop answering him (she doesn’t know why?!).

Then, about a week or two later, Lex was late getting to their dining hall (the Geiser). As she was trying to find anything good to eat, Silas noticed her, and Snapchatted her. Lex went over to him in hopes that he had something good to eat. Silas, being the gentleman he is, did offer his cheeseburger and what anyone else would have assumed as cheese fries - which in reality was mustard on the fries (gross!). Since that moment, Silas has given and shared his food numerous times with Lex. That’s their (or his) secret to a happy life ;).

From the moment in the dining hall and on, Lex did start answering Silas and never stopped. The two officially started dating October 27, 2018 when Silas asked Lex to be “his girl” late at night in his dorm room. From that night on the two have navigated dorm rooms, roommates, college houses and one downtown apartment together. As well as many late night study sessions (for Lex), house parties, bar nights and heads in the toilet (Silas). Both of them never thought they would be in the category of “college sweethearts” but love and life had different plans!
