Raleigh and Alexis' love story began in July 2020, after a lucky swipe matched the two Libras. Raleigh asked Alexis on a FaceTime date "to make sure she was real," and the two spent hours getting to know one another.

They planned a date shortly after at Bartaco in Reston Town Center, and quickly bonded over their incredibly close birthdays (two days apart), shared love of pork belly tacos, and crazy adventures at their alma maters in Tennessee and Ohio.

When Alexis asked Raleigh if he was currently dating anyone else, Raleigh responded, "No, I deleted the app as soon as we matched. I found what I was looking for!" This prompted Alexis to excuse herself to go to the lady's room where she quickly deleted the app from her phone. The waitress serving them noticed their spark and commented, "You guys are such a beautiful couple!"

After dinner, Raleigh grabbed Alexis' hand and led her to the amphitheater in the center of the town center so they could continue talking. A short while later, an amateur violinist began playing love songs in the distance. A true romantic, Alexis admired the timing of the love songs. Raleigh not missing a beat said facetiously, "I planned it!"

The pair sat at one of the benches smiling and laughing with one another for hours until they were the only two people left. After their date, Alexis went home and exclaimed, "I met the man I'm going to marry!"

Three weeks later, Alexis was making Raleigh her homemade spaghetti sauce for the first time when he asked if she would like to go for a quick walk with him around a nearby fountain. On that stroll Raleigh asked Alexis if she would be his girlfriend. She said “Duh!” And the rest is history.
