A few months later, the COVID-19 pandemic hit. Lexi wrapped up her internship and headed back home. It turned out to be perfect timing as Lexi and Stephen not only reunited but also graduated from Temple University with their undergraduate degrees. During the pandemic, Lexi and Stephen filled their days with family game nights, beach trips, and inventive surprises for each other, proving that even in isolation, their love and laughter thrived.

As the pandemic wound down, Stephen was busy with work while Lexi wrapped up her Master’s degree online and graduated. She’s mastered her degree in Recreational Therapy, and together they're perfecting the art of mastering their relationship!

They capped it off with a trip to Disney World, where they celebrated their love and accomplishments in the most magical place on Earth—attempting to win a duel with lightsabers and discovering that Disney’s version of “happy ever after” includes a lot of queuing.

Lexi and Stephen kept the good times rolling, balancing work, family, and friends while their relationship flourished. They became experts at juggling life -proving that their love only grew stronger amidst the chaos.

With the New Year came Stephen’s grand plan to propose to Lexi. Little did she know, he’d already spilled the beans to her family and blabbed to her friends during a night out, all while she was in the bathroom. Everyone was great at keeping the secret, though—her friends managed to keep a straight face, and her family avoided any accidental slip-ups.

Stephen proposed during their trip to NYC to see The Music Man, a trip Lexi thought was just for the show. Little did she know, Stephen had planned a surprise brunch and a proposal at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden—leaving Lexi so stunned that she nearly forgot to say yes while marveling at the “unexpected” scenery.

Shortly after the proposal, Stephen took off for the American Airlines Cadet Academy in Dallas, Texas, to pursue his dream of becoming a pilot. Once again, Lexi found herself in the familiar territory of long-distance love, all while perfecting the art of video call small talk and counting down the days until their next reunion.

During the much, much, much longer than expected time away, Lexi made trips to visit Stephen, where they spent quality time with his family and explored Dallas and Fort Worth. Despite the distance, Stephen joked that their love was so strong, it had mastered the art of thriving on video calls and occasional surprise visits.

Stephen was still training to become a pilot while Lexi was in full wedding planning mode. I don’t think Stephen was too heartbroken to miss out on the wedding planning “fun”—after all, he got to skip the endless decisions about napkin colors and seating charts! Then, he graduated, ready to take flight into their next adventure together.

Stephen might have skipped most of the wedding planning “fun,” but as soon as he got home, Lexi had him visiting the venue and debating menu choices. Despite all that, they were overjoyed to be together again and ready to say “I do”.
