What started as a joke between friends would unknowingly manifest into reality for Alexis. For Alexis’ birthday in November 2023, she choose to attend the premiere of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever with a group of friends. Unbeknownst to her a secret admirer was also in attendance that night. Rupert recognized Alexis as one of his followers on Instagram. He had been admiring her from afar, but never expected to meet her in person. When he noticed Alexis’ familiar face and signature smile across the room, he was hesitant to approach her. In order to not make things awkward, he chose to not introduce himself since she seemed to be with a large group of friends. A few days later Rupert sent Alexis a message asking if she would be interested in going to lunch or having a drink with him.
