Is there parking available near your wedding venue?
Yes, Houmas House has a large parking lot that will accommodate everyone.
What time should I arrive at your wedding ceremony?
We suggest you arrive between 6:15 and 6:30 PM to allow for enough time to enter the facility, sign our guest book, and find a seat before the ceremony begins.
Will your wedding be indoors or outdoors?
The ceremony and cocktail hour will be outdoor in the gardens. The reception to follow will be indoor.
What is the dress code for your wedding?
The dress code is formal.
What is the weather like in the area?
We expect the temperature to be around 70-80F or 21-27C.
Am I allowed to bring a plus one?
A plus one will be indicated on your invitation. We have a limited number of guests, but we will try to accommodate requests for additional attendees.
Am I allowed to bring my children?
Children guests will be indicated on your invitation, if unsure, please reach out.
Will there be an open bar?
Yes.
Am I allowed to take photos at your wedding?
Feel free to take pictures with your party on the grounds prior to the ceremony or at the reception. However, we have hired a professional photographer to capture all the important moments of our wedding day. We would appreciate you refraining from taking any pictures during the ceremony or during other "special" moments of the bride and groom.
