It all began when Jake and Lexx first saw each other at a young adults night at their Pastor’s house, they hadn’t introduced each other or anything so they just were strangers…when little did they know that they would meet two weeks later. On May 1st, 2022 Jake and Lexx had met at Church after the Service. Lexx had previously met Gabe (Jake’s brother) the week before and recognized Gabe at church and realized that his brother was Jake, the one she had previously seen on the night of young adults. So after service, Jake began a conversation with Lexx and asked her where her tote bag was from because he knew the girl who made it! It became such a small world. Lexx and Jake began talking for about 20 minutes and realized that they were so hungry and their friends and siblings were hungry too. They all had decided to go to Panera Bread after service. Lexx and Jake could not stop talking, that is ALL that they would do. The whole time at the restaurant, their whole life was already shared and they realized they had so much in common and shared so many views on the same things together! They didn’t want to admit that their was some sort of feelings off this first time meeting…but to say their wasn’t would be a totally lie. After Panera bread, they went with everyone to get ice cream from target and they went to pet some dogs at the pet store. The conversation never ended and time felt endless. They had to take Jake and his brother home that night after hanging out ALL day, and Lexx got to meet his mom/talk to her for the first time. The day ended so quickly and they realized that they wanted to do it all over again the next day! So about two days later, they all ended up hanging out again and then the next day and the next and the next!! They couldn’t deny the chemistry that they had! Every time they hung out, sparks were flying and it was like they were in their own world. They soon began to realize that feelings were arising. It wasn’t until one night in Lexx’s movie theatre room that Jake and Lexx escaped from their friends and began to share everything they felt about each other. To each other’s amazement they were shocked that they felt the same exact way about each other AND even more than that! A few weeks later they took a road trip with their friends to a conference in Kansas City, on the way back, Lexx was driving and Jake was staring at Lexx and began to share that he wanted to pursue her further. When they got back to Las Vegas from the trip, Jake wanted to ask her parents if he could take her out on a date, and they said Yes!! Jake ran upstairs to tell her that they had said yes and Jake and Lexx started jumping up and down screaming like little kids together. It was such a special moment! On May 20th, they had their first date ALONE! (Because previously all the times that they had hung out together, their siblings and friends were always around so they never were alone!) It was the first date and Jake picked up Lexx at her house with beautiful sunflowers, they were both so nervous! Jake first took her to a smoothie place to have a little drink before their dinner because they ended up going Axe throwing where Lexx completely destroyed Jake and it was her first time Axe throwing! After so much fun, they ended up going to dinner at Applebee’s where on the way to the restaurant, Jake had played this country song that sang, “Yeah we fancy like Applebee’s on a date night” and he said this is where they would be going!! After a delicious and cozy dinner, Jake and Lexx headed to go see the stars at a viewpoint next to her house! It was then that Jake and Lexx had shared their first Kiss together!! It was such a magical day and Jake and Lexx knew that this was it, they had spent everyday hanging out together from that point on. On June 24, 2022, at a conference in Dallas, Jake asked Lexx to be his girlfriend!! He had been waiting and felt so strongly from God that he wanted to do this and date her. So they started dating!!!

Jake and Lexx were headed to Cancun for their One Year anniversary of Dating. Jake woke Lexx up with a beautiful note, with a delicious breakfast and a rose saying it was going to be a special day! To start the day, they headed to the beach and swam in the Cancun waters until late afternoon. When they headed back to the hotel, they got ready for what Lexx thought was going to be ‘dinner’. After getting ready, they headed back to the same white sanded beach In Cancun and to Lexx’s surprise, Their was a whole set up saying “will you marry me” made by seaweed with a blanket and pillows!! Lexx of course said yes!! On June 25, 2022, they got engaged!!! After proposing, Jake surprised Lexx with a beautiful boat dinner in the middle of the water! It was so magical and romantic!!
