Our story begins freshman year at Alma College, when Grant and Alexis lived down the hall from each other in the midst of Covid. During the first few weeks of school, Alexis became friends with some of Grants mutual friends from the football team. Alexis had eventually confided in these friends that she thought Grant was super cute, which they were sure to relay to him. A few weeks later, one of Grant and Alexis' mutual friends had invited a bunch of people over to his place to watch football and hang out. To Alexis' excitement, Grant was going to be there too! They ended up hitting it off right away, spending majority of the night talking up a storm.

Flash forward a few weeks of spontaneous dates to taco bell (their first date), study sessions, hiking the nearby trails in Alma, and hammocking dates to watch the stars; Alexis got a call from the school wellness office, telling her that she tested positive for Covid, and would need to move to the quarantine dorms on campus for two weeks. With this, she had to break the news to Grant over the phone that after 2 weeks of hanging out, she got him thrown into quarantine jail along with her.

Those next two weeks consisted of MANY long hours a day video calling to continue getting to know one another in a very untraditional way! Nevertheless, Alexis was extremely grateful that Grant still wanted to get to know her after she had singlehandedly uprooted the entire beginning of his very first collegiate football season.

Once Grant and Alexis were able to leave the quarantine dorms, they went on a sushi dinner date, ending with mini- golf date in the neighboring town, where Grant beat Alexis by a landslide in their game. Feeling defeated by her loss, she decided it was time to ask Grant what was taking him so long to ask her to be his girlfriend. Much to Grants surprise, Alexis had explained that he never officially asked her to be his girlfriend, so she had been telling everyone they were "talking". His response will forever be known as the classic Grant thing to say- which was "Well, we have gone on a few dates and have been hanging out together so I just assumed you were already my Girlfriend!" So then, on October 4th, 2020, it was decided that they were "officially" official.

Through the years, Grant and Alexis have experienced quite the journey together, between navigating a blossoming relationship during Covid, many hours of driving to football games to cheer Grant on, moving to a whole new state together for football and nursing school, enduring periods of a long distance relationship, new jobs, buying their first home together, and welcoming their *not so little* bundle of fur, Winona, into the family. Over time, one thing was absolutely certain- they knew they were made for each other.

On May 17th, 2024, Grant proposed to Alexis on a vacation that she thought was to celebrate his graduation, his brothers birthday, and Alexis' birthday. It was like a scene from a movie- Grant and Alexis were exploring the coast and the sand bar in front of Old Mission Peninsula Lighthouse in Traverse City. Once they had waded into the shallow shoreline, Alexis had turned around to find Grant down on one knee in the water, asking her to spend forever with him.

Join us October 10th, 2025 as we say "I do" and kick off the next phase of our life together in one of our favorite places. We are so blessed and excited to share this day with those who have been a part of our journey, and shower us with so much love and joy!!
