Alexis & Julian

Julian and Lexi met at the University of Virginia, just a few miles south of where they will be saying their vows. If you ask Julian, he remembers meeting Lexi at a Christmas party in December of 2015. In December of 2023, Facebook sent Julian a notification to look at an old photo from December of 2015, lo and behold, it is a photo from that Christmas party and both Julian and Lexi are in it! For the excellent memory she normally touts, Lexi remembers that party for the two-person Christmas sweater her and Abby Steele wore. If you ask Lexi when the pair met, she remembers meeting him in Theta Chi’s Shark Tank on Halloween 2017. Lexi’s friend from study abroad, Tucker Blythe, invited her and her friends to the party. This Tucker also happened to be roommates with Julian. The morning after the party, Julian asked Tucker if he had Lexi’s number. The pair then went to date functions and Blue Motes at Michael’s for the remainder of the semester. After a semester of Julian studying abroad, a summer in different parts of the country, and a few more months, the pair rekindled their relationship in March of 2019. They spent their last semester finishing their degrees, watching the Hoos with the National Championship, and falling more and more in love.

So what about after college? Well, Julian and Lexi did long distance for a while. Lexi moved to North Dakota to work a seasonal job for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers 2 weeks after graduation. Julian's post-grad job at WorldStrides in Charlottesville didn't start until August, so Julian booked tickets to fly out and see Lexi in North Dakota. The pair bee-bopped around Bismarck and then made their way north to Canada where they spend a very rainy weekend camping in the Turtle Mountains. The pair saw each other for 12 hours over 4th of July weekend and then for a couple days at the end of August. They spent a lot of time on Facetime and watching Netflix movies together on their laptops. Following the end of Lexi's seasonal job at the end of September, she moved back to Charlottesville while she searched for another job. At this time, Julian was living with Michael Bateman in Charlottesville. Although, most of her things were at her aunt and uncle's house in Ruckersville, Lexi was the unofficial third roommate at City Walk with Julian and Michael. Lexi and Julian were crazy about each other and preferred not to be apart, which turned out just fine considering the world shut down in March of 2020! Michael, Julian, and Lexi attempted to pass the time with cocktail hours, game nights, and walking to the local park to play frisbee. The global pandemic did not aid Lexi in her search for a new job in her field. So, when the US Army Corps of Engineers called her to come back for a second summer in North Dakota, she jumped at the opportunity. It was during this summer that Lexi drove 15 hours one-way to see Julian and his family at Lake Ridinger in northern Indiana and Julian and Lexi did a 10 mile hike in Teddy Roosevelt National Park and had a close encounter with some bison.

On top of a butte in the middle of no-where North Dakota, Lexi got a phone call with a job offer in Richmond, Virginia. She accepted, packed up, and left North Dakota early. Julian and Lexi found an apartment in Richmond and she started work at Dominion Due Diligence Group in August of 2020. Julian started shortly thereafter as an Assistant Manger at TASTE. The pair still work at these jobs today! On Halloween 2020, Julian and Lexi got Cheddar, their orange tabby cat, from the Charlottesville SPCA, and they love their friendly cheese so much! After navigating through COVID and two wonderful years in their Richmond city apartment, the pair bought their first house in Chesterfield on August 31, 2022.

Since the purchase of their house, the couple has been plagued with two questions: How is the house?...and When are you getting married? The first question is easy enough to answer, if you, like the couple, are homeowners. "The house is great! We have plenty of projects, but life gets busy and projects are expensive!" The answer to the second question....well, they have an answer for that now as well...September 14, 2024!

See you there!
