Drew and Alexis officially met in 2013 when Mia (Drew’s sister) and Alexis became close friends. Mia and Alexis were inseparable, and Alexis went on the Riggle’s family vacation to Canada for a couple years to follow. Back in 2013, they were just kids in Canada on vacation; cliff jumping, tubing, skiing, and all fun things kids do. However, Drew and Alexis didn’t realize that their friendship that sparked in Canada was going to grow into something much, much more.

During Drew’s senior year and Alexis’s sophomore year in 2015, they decided to give the dating thing a try and their feelings grew stronger and stronger. Time flew by, and before they knew it, Drew was deciding on colleges. They agreed that they would make long distance work, and Drew went to Ohio Wesleyan where he met some of his best friends (and 4 of his groomsmen). Alexis took many 6+ hour road trips to visit Drew. When she was deciding on school, she wanted to choose what was best for her and her future while still making long distance work. Alexis went to Washington and Jefferson, where she met 2 of her bridesmaids and life-long friends. Drew and Alexis were both able to play sports, make friends of their own, and figure out their life on their own, while seeing each other once or twice a month. It worked for the time being.

Drew graduated in 2020 and got a job in Columbus, where he lived for a year after graduation. He visited Alexis many times that year; working from her dorm room and hanging out with Ashley (her roommate/bridesmaid). Once Alexis graduated and moved back to Gettysburg to work, they did the 6+ hour long distance for another 6 months. Eventually, Drew made the decision to move home in June 2022. This was the first time in 7 years that Drew and Alexis didn’t have to plan their next road trip to see each other! Big win!

In July 2022, Alexis and Drew took a trip to South Carolina with Ashley and Nate (Ashley’s boyfriend). Drew popped the question, Alexis had no idea at all, and the rest is history! They celebrated the rest of the trip and came home to so much love from friends and family.

Since the engagement, they bought a house together in June 2023 and have enjoyed making the house their home. They are excited for the next chapter in their life’s and cannot wait to have all the people they love in one room.
