How We Met

Aaron and I technically met within my first month of college at University of North Georgia, when I was a Freshman and he was a Junior. My best friend Danielle and I were asked to meet her brother, Josh, and his then-girlfriend-now-wife Katie at our dining hall with some of their friends for dinner. Aaron was there a grand total of 5 minutes and said about 6 words of greeting before having to run off to other plans. That night, ironically, the joke started between me and Danielle about Aaron being my future husband.

The joke continued throughout our college years, despite the fact that Aaron and I only had very sparse interactions before he graduated in 2020 (one of those being him getting roped in to helping Danielle and I move into our college house). The last time I had seen him in person was that summer of 2020 at Josh and Katie's wedding.

Fast forward to October 2023. We had checked in on each other every now and then via social media and Josh Edwards throughout the years (unbeknownst to the other person) but had not spoken or had a conversation since the wedding. One day, I saw Aaron like an instagram post related to Lord of the Rings. People who know either of us would definitely categorize us as nerds, so this was all I needed to reach out to Josh with the infamous text.

"the jig is up josh, when is aaron wisner going to stop playing and just propose to me. this is getting ridiculous"

Thankfully, Josh sent that text directly to Aaron and he reached out the next day! With him in Kansas, me in Alabama, we ended up talking to each other and facetiming every day for the next 3 months. Aaron was finally able to fly down to see me on January 12, 2024 and make things official (while I was flu-ridden and sick as a dog). He flew down a couple of more times over the next 8 months before he was sent back to Ft. Moore, GA for his CCC training with the Army and we (somewhat) closed the distance. Since then, God has been so good to both of us, providing and encouraging us in ways that have made our relationship so easy, despite the distance. Our relationship has been filled with great food, even better movies, and time spent with people who have walked with us through every stage of our relationship.

Almost exactly a year after our first, in person date on January 17, 2025, Aaron proposed on a weekend back to our college town with my two best friends. We are so beyond excited to get to spend our wedding day surrounded by our closest friends and family! July can't come quickly enough and we are so excited to see you there!
