Alexis and Nathan met on Tinder in January of 2019. Alexis had one line in her bio: “I’m a catfish and I’m just looking for someone to pay for my hair”. Nathan opened with the creative line “it’s a shame you’re a catfish, because I’m 100% not paying for your hair.” That worked, apparently. Their first date accidentally lasted 6.5 hours - Nathan unintentionally picked her favorite restaurant for brunch, then took her to a pop up arcade at the local cidery. They walked to get ice cream in downtown Spartanburg, and Alexis didn’t realize the time until her roommates were frantically texting her asking if she’s dead because who has a six and a half hour first date? Six weeks in, Alexis told Nathan that she’s moving to Nashville in a couple of months for a brand new job she picked up after college, Nathan told her to give him a little bit to think about it - less than a week later, he said he was coming with her. They moved to Franklin, TN in June 2019 and weathered being hundreds of miles away from friends and family alongside COVID. Alexis and Nathan accumulated a life up in Nashville (and two kitties who are their pride and joy), before moving back down to South Carolina in 2022. On July 17th, 2022, under the guise of helping a close friend update his photography portfolio, Nathan proposed to Alexis at Hatcher Gardens in Spartanburg, SC. Their new chapter of their lives begins now, alongside their closest friends and family.
