Alexis's Version: Alexis was first “ introduced” to Tyler through a Snapchat sent by Hannah (Maid of Honor). Tyler was dancing and Alexis had to know who he was. Hannah had told Alexis that his name was Trevor and that he was an amazing person. After talking with Hannah some more, Alexis found out his name was actually Tyler! A few weeks after that, Alexis received a text from Tyler and they talked the entire rest of weekend! They had their first phone call and date soon after. Tyler was still living in Cincinnati the time, but he was moving back to start his teaching job. Tyler asked Alexis to officially be his girlfriend on June 29th, 2019 (does the date sound familiar?). Alexis can’t wait to spend the rest of her life with Tyler 🤍

Tyler’s Version: Tyler just had a great night with his friends at a co-workers wedding and before he left Defiance to go back to Cincinnati, Stephon (Best Man) told him that he had a friend that he thinks he could see Tyler being with. He told Tyler to let him know when he was ready and he would share her phone number with him. After a few weeks, Tyler mustered up the confidence to text Alexis on a Friday after he had gotten off work. They immediately clicked, and texting turned into phone calls after work, and then to FaceTimes. Tyler was moving back to Defiance to start a teaching job but wanted to take Alexis out on a date before then. Tyler ventured up to Defiance to meet Alexis for the first time in person, bearing flowers, excitement and definitely some nervousness! Little did Tyler know, but he would be meeting Alexis’s Mom and Dad for the first time too! (Might as well knock it all out at once right?!) From there, they went on a few more dates and Tyler asked Alexis to be his girlfriend on June 29th, 2019 (Hmmm, why does that date sound so familiar?) and then proposed to Alexis on November 4th, 2023.
