Our story actually begins almost 12 years ago back in 2013. I had just graduated from Rockwall High School, and Zach had one more year at Rockwall Heath High School. Yes...rivalry schools. Our friend, Stephanie, is the reason we met. I couldn't be more grateful. Zach and I started hanging out progressively, and it never stopped!
On July 2, 2013 we were swimming, and Zach and a couples friends were on one side of the pool and I was told to stay on the other side; which I was not thrilled about. A few moments later, Zach swam over to me, grabbed me, looked me in the eyes, and asked me to be his girlfriend. Of course I said yes! The next day we were on our way to what is now one of our favorite spots, Broken Bow Lake. It was the best weekend! Jumping off the cliffs, tubing, sitting by the fire, listening to good music and telling my dad that I was in love Zach Ross! Yup, you heard it right! I was in love with the man who had just asked me out, but I knew in my heart it was true. Our first place together was the home/living area of my grandparents office building. I know it wasn't ideal with Zach being a senior and I was working, but it worked for us.
In 2014, Zach graduated high school, and we decided to find our first home. We also decided to get our oldest pup, Al Pacino. He was our world...our first baby! At the end of 2014, we moved into "The Boulders Apartments". What a crazy time that was. In 2016, our next pup Atlas was welcomed to the family. In 2017, our pup Rocky joined the family.
In 2018, we moved to the Savoy apartment complex. In 2021, we decided we needed to add another pup to our little family, Ozzy. What can I say? We love our animals!
Fast forward to June 16, 2023 when we found out we were pregnant with our first actual baby. Nova Lyn made her entrance on December 1, 2023. Our hearts were stolen by our little sugar plum. From her first words to her to first steps, this has been our wildest adventure yet,,,officially being parents.
In October 2024, Zach & I went on a halloween cruise with a few family and friends. We were excited to spend the week hanging out and relaxing. Little did I know, Zach had something special planned. On the second night of the cruise, it was formal night. We got all dressed up, and went to Central Park to take family pictures. Everyone took their photos, and it was finally our turn. After we took our pictures, I turned to walk away. Everyone started yelling for me to stop. When I turned back around, Zach grabbed my hand and got down on one knee. He told me that he loved me and wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. His next words were "Will you marry me?". My heart dropped with tears in my eyes while saying " Oh my god, YES!" Everyone screamed and cheered. It was everything I could dream of. I told him he was going to make my makeup come off and everyone laughed. It was the absolute best night being with my favorite person. Ironically, everyone there knew about Zach's plan. Most of them had know for months. From hiding the ring, to laughing and crying, to the actual proposal...everything was perfect.
Now we are planning our wedding for August of 2025!
We can not wait to celebrate with everyone!
