Ali and Casey met in PA school. Before the program started, all Ali really knew about Casey was that he can build a mean student loan budget spreadsheet (not much has changed). The first time they interacted was when Casey was impressing a group of classmates with his knowledge about bones in anatomy class (really, not much has changed).

They bonded over a love of rock climbing and a stubborn insistence that it is possible to study in a bar. Miraculously, they both passed most of their exams.

Ali and Casey’s friendship felt natural and easy from the beginning, and they quickly found themselves spending much of their free time together. Finally, when Casey “jokingly” purchased a toothbrush to keep in Ali’s apartment, she knew something had to be done. So, she wrote a speech. And memorized it. And, feeling vaguely sick to her stomach, she managed to overcome her nerves and profess her feelings during a break in classes. She did not, however, choose her location wisely, so they paused this intense conversation periodically to say hello to fellow classmates walking by.

It did not take long after that day for Ali and Casey's friendship to grow into something more. It was perhaps because of the strong "friendship" foundation that they were able to withstand some COVID-related obstacles early on in their relationship, including moving in with Ali's parents for a few months and, later, living together in a tiny studio apartment in Cambridge (where they learned that Ali really does need alone time to maintain her sanity).

After finishing school, they moved to Casey's home state of Vermont and have since been taking advantage of all the incredible recreational opportunities that this brave little state has to offer. They adopted their dog, Nya, shortly after moving (who has been aptly nicknamed "Little Spice" at her doggy daycare). After a long and meandering search, they purchased their first home in December 2024!

Here comes the next chapter! It's been a joy of a journey so far.
