Castle Bran, often referred to as "Dracula's Castle," is a medieval fortress located in the Carpathian Mountains near the town of Bran, Romania. This iconic structure, perched on a cliff overlooking a deep valley, was originally built in the 14th century by the Hungarian King Louis I of Anjou to defend the strategically important mountain pass against invading forces.

The castle's architecture features a blend of Gothic and Renaissance styles, with its high, fortified walls, turrets, and narrow, winding staircases creating a dramatic and mysterious ambiance. Its distinctive appearance and remote location have contributed to its association with Bram Stoker's fictional vampire, Count Dracula, although there is no evidence that Stoker had Bran Castle in mind when writing his novel.
