Our Wedding

Esau and Alia met while working at Scheels in Rochester MN. Esau and Alia both happened to have the same teacher for their English class at RCTC which is what initially sparked up some conversation. During the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, Esau messaged Alia on her 18th birthday. Esau talked about golfing and Alia shared she had never been, so Esau insisted he would take her, after all, that was one of the only activities that was allowed during the time. Alia went golfing with Esau and his friends which turned into Alia and Esau golfing alone. Finally, Esau asked Alia to go on a golfing "date." Esau and Alia started dating right before alia had to move away for college but their relationship stayed strong through four years of long distance. In October of 2023 Alia experienced the biggest surprise when Esau proposed at a pumpkin patch in Cedarburg WI. Now, Esau is still working at Scheels as an Assistant Store Leader, and alia just graduated with a doctorate in occupational therapy. Esau recently bought a home and they plan to stay in Rochester after being married. They could not be more excited to spend the rest of their life together.

Our Story 

Sophie is Alia's best friend and roomate from college at Concordia University Wisconsin. Alia and Sophie shared a room all throughout college. After graduating Sophie started working in marketing at Baird, a financial management company in Milwaukee Wisconsin.

Sophia Henning

Aubrey is Alia's sister. She just finished her freshman year at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. She is in the honors program studying biochemistry. She is interested in doing research and hopes to eventually be a pharmacologist. In the fall, she will study abroad in Scotland. 

Aubrey Diercks 

Alia met Carly when in grad school. She is originally from Iowa but she completed her fieldwork rotations in Colorado, and in Minnesota. She loves spending time outdoors! Carly is currently studying for her OT board exam and plans to work with older adults. 

Carly Wemett 

Alia met Kayla grad school. Kayla has moved around her whole life, even spending some time in Hawaii and Japan, but she spent the most time living in Missouri. Kayla is now working as an pediatric OT in San Diego, CA.

Kayla Muehler 

Rachelle and Alia became friends in high school and also started working at Scheels together at the same time. Rachelle is now living in Rochester and working as a research pharmacy technician at Mayo. 

Rachelle Leon 

Alia and Lydia became friends in high school.  After high school, Lydia attended the University of Minnesota and graduated with a degree in bioproducts and biosystems engineering. She is now living in Minneapolis. 

Lydia Mindermann 

Esau met Braden on his 7th grade basketball team and they stayed great friends throughout high school at John Marshall. Braden graduated with a degree in sports management from the University of Minnesota and is now living in Minneapolis. 

Braden Smith 

Esau and Nathan became friends in high school. Nathan graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in sports management. He is  now living in Rochester, working at Eastwood Golf Course where he and Esau spend much of their time together!

Nathan Wruble 

Esau met Blake through Braden and Nathan as he was their roommate in college at the University of Minnesota. Blake graduated with a degree in architecture and is now working in his hometown, Fon Du Lac, WI as an architectural Designer  

Blake Czyzewiski

Esau met Austin during Covid through mutual friends or in other words, while "playing warzone with the boys." Austin is now working as a painter in Benson, MN. 

Austin Ose 

Esau met Ethan through Nathan in high school. Ethan went to college at Winona State, and they stayed in touch through playing Warzone together.  Ethan is now working as a realtor in Rochester, and he helped Esau find his home!

Ethan Kaske

Esau met Nick in high school. He went to college at Winona state for economics and is now an accounting specialist at Mayo Credit Union in Rochester.

Nick Leidig

Jessie and Alia met in grad school. After college Jessie stayed close to Concordia to complete her fieldwork and she is currently studying for the OT board exam. She is planning to go into pediatrics. 

Jessica Wagner 

Kiel is Alia's cousin. Kiel started attending Concordia University Wisconsin during Alia's senior year and still bartends at the same restaurant Alia served at throughout college. 

Kiel Zuelsdorff 

Simon is Esau's cousin. They share the same interest in working on cars! Simon is now working as a "classic specialist" at Jim's Auto Care in Rochester. 

Simon Swenson 

Teagan is Esau's little cousin. She is a sweet kindergartener who can't wait to be a flower girl!

Aidan is Esau's little cousin. He is four years old and loves playing with trucks and riding his bike!

A more affordable restaurant with a variety of types of food and drinks. They are known for their gluten free menu. Call ahead, it's usually busy!

Great burger restaurant downtown! Park in the parking ramp right next to the restaurant!!

Red Cow Rochester

One of Alia's favorites. Thai Pop is a beautiful restaurant located downtown, they serve Thai food and great cocktails.
