We wanted to share our story with all of you!
Owen and Aliah's story first began in Fort Collins, CO while Owen was attending Colorado State University. He was starting his junior year in college, Owen was studying mechanical engineering and through acquaintances we first met each other. When Aliah first met Owen, she was immediately struck by how kind Owen was. He seemed like the nicest guy and she loved talking with him. But our paths would not cross again for several months.
In May of 2022, Owen called Aliah to reconnect with a good friend. We decided to meet at a coffee shop in Denver to catch up over the past several months. Meeting at the coffee shop was great! We both began to see eachother on a different level that we hadn't seen before. Aliah and Owen left excited to see each other again. Aliah made sure to ask Owen to attend church with her in a few weeks so that she would have an excuse to hang out with him again. As the weeks went by, they would periodically text each other to see how they were doing but then Owen shared some shocking news. Casually, Owen revealed that he had broken his neck in a freak off-roading accident. Aliah saw this as an opportunity to hangout with Owen as much as possible being that Owen would be in Colorado Springs for a while. As the weeks went by Aliah and Owen spent time with each other continuing to get to know each other. On July 6, Owen asked Aliah to go on a hike up Mount Hermon knowing that he was going to ask her to be his girlfriend. During the whole entire way down the mountain, Owen was thinking of how to share his feelings with her. At the end of the hike we walked around Palmer Lake trying to make the night last forever. Owen planned to share his feelings at the end of the night but Aliah wasn't patient enough! Aliah knew that she would be leaving soon for her 10 month gap year program, and she wanted Owen to know “she wanted to be more intentional with each other.” In other words, I want to be more than friends. Owen was not expecting Aliah to “say it first” and was so happy to know she felt the same. He shared his feelings and they left the lake hand in hand.
From then on, Owen and Aliah took every opportunity to see each other and build their relationship. Aliah then left for her 10 month gap year program and we began a 10 month long distance relationship. When her program was completed, we have been together ever since which brings us to our special day that we get to share with all of you! We are so blessed to have all of you be a part of this special day and support our relationship! Please keep us in your prayers!
Love,
Owen and Aliah
