Our Wedding

We met in December 2020 in Wagga Wagga, NSW, introduced by mutual friends. It didn’t take long for us to find a dance floor and begin our journey together. At the time, Alice was about to start her Honours year, while Tareq was preparing to move to Canberra to join the army. We made the most of our summer together before facing the inevitable separation due to living in different states, not knowing we were stepping into a two-year long-distance relationship. As Tareq settled in Canberra and Alice remained in Wagga, COVID-19 returned in 2021, closing state borders and forcing us to communicate solely through FaceTime. Thankfully, as COVID numbers decreased and Alice completed her degree, we found a chance to be closer than ever—living just across the Federal Highway, allowing us to spend weekends together in the first half of 2022. However, we soon fell back into our old routine of distance, with Tareq moving to Singleton and Alice relocating to North Queensland. This led to more video calls than we would have liked over the next six months. In 2023, we finally found ourselves living together in Townsville for the first time. We moved into a cozy apartment and, despite the army’s best efforts to keep us apart, we enjoyed more time together than ever before. But it was 2024 that brought significant milestones for us. The year kicked off with a bang when Tareq proposed on February 24th after a challenging hike to the top of Windin Falls. Shortly after, Tareq left for Malaysia for three months, leaving Alice to settle into our new home alone. Upon his return, we welcomed a third member to our family—our black Labrador, Riff. We are now enjoying homeownership, diving into renovations, and cherishing every moment together. We can’t wait to get married and continue our beautiful journey!

Yoga in the Chapel

A yoga class will be held in the Bush Chapel at 7:00am on the wedding day for any guests that want to attend.

Animal Feeding

A tour of the animals and the opportunity to feed them will be held at 9:00am on the Saturday and Sunday.
