One of our favorite local breweries - if you're not sure where to start, try the Luminary a crisp golden ale that has been a staple of theirs for years!
We absolutely love this bakery! They are run by a family originally from Sicily and make everything from scratch. Try the cupcakes!
Don't let the ice cream fool you... behind the coolers there is a small hole in the wall where you may find libations more suiting to a night out. Just flick the switch outside and find out! (but seriously if you want to check out the speakasy it's best to make reservations ahead of time. It's called Less than Greater than)
Another favorite of ours, this coffee house / brewery is great for morning or night. Ask for a latte flight and maybe take home some of their coffee beans yourself!
Great steak! Reserve in advance as this place is usually booked up.
Looking for a little Alicia and Matt lore? Check out the place we first met! This small cafe offers great coffee, great food, and great lobster rolls (lucky for you this will be in season for the big day!) If its a nice day, ask about the outdoor seating out back. This is also the location Matt proposed to Alicia!
The location of our Wedding Ceremony! Originally built in 1843 as the site of a former Transcendentalist experiment in subsistence farming which was disbanded after only 7 months. Eventually the grounds were opened to the public in 1914. This was also used as a filming location for the movie Little Women. There is a museum, a cafe and hiking trails as well. Please note that use of the trails is only allowed with the price of admission.
For the folks coming in through Boston, be sure stop by our favorite bakery in the city! Hot spot for many a break during PAX East for us, this bakery was started by an award winning chef Joanne Chang and now has over 9 locations in the greater Boston area. We are often attempting to recreate pastries from this bakery's official cookbook.
Want to get a unique look at Boston? Rent some Kayaks and paddle through the heart of the city! Another date activity of ours, get great views of M.I.T. the Esplanade, and the Museum of Science. The water in this area is VERY calm so if you are not an avid kayak or paddle boarder, this is perfect for you. No reservations required, just walk right up and get going!
A very famous and historic market filled with plenty of food stands, shops, bars and landmarks. Another favorite of ours for Boston date nights.
