Colin and AliEmme met the not-modern way: at a friend’s wedding! We’d kept just missing each other for months, until November 4th, 2023.

Colin was oblivious at first - AliEmme spotted him talking animatedly to people while he remained completely unaware she was nearby 🤣 When a friend finally offered to introduce them, we immediately clicked - talking all about favorite books, Idaho compounds, wild family members, and moving to Austin. Everything clicked from the first words - we were laughing right off the bat.

After half an hour of what Colin thought was strong flirting, he offered to grab some cake with AliEmme. AliEmme, being somewhat confused since she'd already had cake, declined! When Colin got detoured by people saying hi on his way back, and AliEmme made an Irish goodbye…

Fortunately, at church the next day, AliEmme learned Colin had texted her friend's husband asking how to spell her name. Suddenly feeling brave, she joined Colin and that friend’s husband deep in some conversation about bitcoin and AI doomers. After class, Colin walked AliEmme to her car and asked her out to Ramen Tatsu-ya.

We've been inseparable ever since, running Town Lake together through the ups and downs of a wild year!
