It all started with a swift swipe on Bumble after chuckling at our profiles having the same answer to the prompt: "I quote too much from", and "Friends" being the only obvious answer for both of us. It drove the rest of that conversation right into our first date. Brandi challenged me to find a local Friends trivia night and 5 minutes later I had found 3 in the surrounding area.

We dominated that trivia night and took home the 1st place ribbon. I wasted zero time asking her out for a 2nd date the following evening. How could I not? We closed the bar down that first night and neither of us wanted it to end.

Since that first weekend, we've been inseparable (except for the 2 weeks that Brandi spent in Italy living her best life). It was then that we both realized that we were it for each other, neither of us told the other one of course, but there was just something about being half a world apart - falling in love over FaceTime, an infinite amount of texts, Insta posts, TikTok's and "while you were sleeping" notes.

In the moments that we'd catch ourselves trying not to say "I love you," we knew this was going to be a marathon that we didn't want to stop running.

If you know us, you know we both love to travel and we've managed to squeeze in some amazing trips together. Our favorite, so far (for obvious reasons), is New York City. The minute I knew I wanted to spend the rest of my life with Brandi, I knew without a doubt that it had to happen in New York City. The Friends obsession is real.

I set my plan in motion and with the help of my friends pulled off an EPIC proposal. I lucked out when I realized that the "Friends Experience" was open in NYC and tickets were available. We wandered through sets and props from our favorite show, laughing and quoting scenes with each other.

Brandi thought that a proposal might happen on the trip but when we stood for a picture at the altar from "The One in Vegas" and I didn't get down on one knee she quickly brushed the idea aside and we continued on.

At the end of the experience, we walked into Central Perk where the photographer snapped several great pics of us on the infamous orange couch. He tee'd me up for the perfect moment and I asked for one more pose, dropping to one knee and asking if she would spend the rest of her life with me. Before I could get the question out she answered with "of course I will!"
