Our Wedding

How it all began..

Part I

He’s native to Austin, Texas. She’s native to Santa Barbara, California. Who would have thought their paths would cross and lead to this? Chris’ mom actually! Chris’ mother Becky wasn’t too excited that her baby boy was leaving the state, and said, ‘I just know you’ll move to California and fall in love’. Well, six years after Chris moved to California, he proved her right. Way to go Alisa!















Chris followed his long-time friend and Boss Brian from Texas to California for an IT position. New state, new opportunity and amazing weather. Seemed like a no brainer, right? And, though it wasn’t easy leaving family, Chris settled into SB nicely, made friends easily and settled in to his new IT job easily. After a bit, Chris would up moving to a new apartment near the beach (smart move!), adopted a cute rescue puppy named Vexor-Bob, and made good friends with his neighbors. 

 















Having lived in Santa Barbara all her life, Alisa knows a ton of people in the area and has a lot of great memories from growing up in SB. If you’re new to the area, Alisa is the first to give you a list of must-see restaurants and locations. On most evenings, prior to Chris, you could see Alisa at lots of local hang-outs, the beach or attending many outdoor community events (that hasn’t changed!). If there was&nbsp;a crowd, fun times or live music to be had, Alisa was there. And wine tasting&hellip; can’t forget her love of wine, the valley and the Funk Zone. It’s that bubbly personality and social butterfly spirit that ultimately led Chris to Alisa.

 















Thanks to their mutual Friends Fern and Chuy, the two were introduced at their favorite local dive bar, Jimboz Lounge. While they were friends for a quite while, it wasn’t until Alisa’s birthday in 2017, that Chris ‘tried’ to get Alisa’s attention. It only sort of worked. While Chris bought Alisa drinks that Friday night until the clock hit midnight and it was her actual birthday, she politely thanked him for his company and the drinks, and went home to prepare for her birthday party the next day. 

 















The two would see each other every Friday thereafter, since that was the only night Chris ‘went out’. You could find him gaming all the other nights, until the little blonde from SB captured his attention. Little did he know that he was about to meet a gal that would have his days, weeks and months planned and filled with fun, friends and adventures.

Part II

A few months after her birthday, Chris finally called Alisa and asked her out. Alisa asked Chris, ‘what time we were going to meet ‘the guys’’ (the friends they often hung out with), and Chris said, ‘we’re not’! It was an actual date – just the two of them! So, the two went out to a local brewery, and if you know Alisa, she’s not really a beer fan. So, she must have already liked him since she was taking one for the team and up for a beer, just to be able to spend one-on-one time with Chris. Chris entered the brewery first, went to order food and suddenly realized that he didn’t know what she liked or what to order. Alisa said she was up for anything, so Chris ordered truffle fries and truffle lobster mac and cheese. It was the easiest to order and who doesn’t like mac and cheese?! Mind you, Chris doesn’t like truffle oil as much as she doesn’t like beer, but each other’s company trumped the differing choices of food and drinks. They were both champs and had a blast, staying up until 4am talking about life, hopes and their mutual dreams. That night was full of butterflies, conversation and kisses, but more importantly an evening that started something amazing. It wasn’t just a date, it was the beginning. &nbsp;The two of them texted and talked thereafter and made a few other dates at Chris’ apartment where they cooked together and got to learn more about who each other were, and all the things they had in common. It was at one of those dinners that Chris mentioned having a Las Vegas trip coming up in a few weeks and wanted to give Alisa a heads-up that he wasn’t disappearing, but rather on a guy’s trip to Vegas. Chris loves, loves, loves, Vegas. Did I mention he loves Vegas?

Out of the blue, a few weeks later Chris asked Alisa to go to Vegas with him, and she was both puzzled and crazy excited. What she thought was a ‘guy’s’ trip was actually a solo trip and Chris figured he had nothing to lose by inviting her. After all, he’d been having so much fun with her in SB and assumed the same would occur in Vegas. She of course said yes, told her mother she was going with Chris, whom she had not yet met, and just in case, gave Chris’ information to her sister Christina and planned for a rescue if needed from her good friend Deano. With that trip came lots of conversation (6 hours in a car each way will do that) and they didn’t even have to pull out the audio-books that Chris had downloaded ‘just in case’. That trip is really when they both said they knew each other was their perfect match. Well done Vegas!







Unbeknown to Alisa, Chris was literally weeks from moving back to Texas. Yet, Chris put everything on hold and stayed put in Alisa’s hometown to see where their relationship would go from there.&nbsp;







But after Vegas, the rest is history.







Alisa introduced Chris to her family and of course they loved him. Same with Chris’ family when he took Alisa home to Austin and was the first girl he brought home to ‘meet the parents’. His family had the same sentiments as did Alisa’s and were very excited for both of them.







Alisa moved in with Chris and Vexor-puppy a few months later. And, a year after what they claim to be their first date the couple went to dinner for their anniversary and off to Jimboz Lounge to celebrate with their friends. Little did Alisa know what Chris had up his sleeve (or in his pants pocket), as he got down on one knee to propose – while their favorite country song ‘My Girl’ by Dylan Scott was playing in the background. There were tears flowing and a resounding ‘YES’ as she jumped up with excitement. He had to ask twice, but had she heard the first ask, her answer would have been the same.







These two have found such loyalty, friendship and love in one another and couldn’t be happier to share their future together – and with you!&nbsp;&nbsp;
