We first met in January 2021.

We decided to have our very first date in the middle of the Snowpocalypse that hit Dallas in February 2021. Daniel had just returned from a solo ski trip in Breckenridge. He had no food and was experiencing rotating power outages. Alisa was tired of being cooped up so we decided to brave the roads and finally have a first date over tacos. The evening was great and the company was even better. We wanted to stay longer, however the roads were going to re-ice so we decided to be safe and head on home.

The connection between us was undeniable. The beginning of April arrived and Alisa decided to take Daniel on a quick trip to Arkansas to meet her mother and family! Everyone thought we were crazy, but it was crazy in love! May rolled around and Daniel took Alisa home to New Jersey to meet his parents and his long time friends.

June 2021, we set off for Lake Tahoe for a weekend getaway. July 2021, we headed off to Mexico and Alisa asked Daniel to move in with her when his lease was up. We had very serious conversations about our future and it's clear that we both were on the same page and very much in love.

Daniel moved in with Alisa November 2021 and the trips continued but this time, Alisa's boys, Parker and Oliver got to join us for the fun adventures.

December 2021, we went to visit Alisa's brother, sister-in-law and nephew in Denver, Colorado. We all snuck off to Breckenridge for an early family Christmas and took the boys snowboarding for the first time. The boys loved it so much, that a new tradition began.

Fast Forward, December 2022, we all head back to Breckenridge, CO for our family Christmas gathering and snowboarding trip. We dropped the boys off to snowboarding school and we headed off for a little hike and elk watching (what?!), or so Alisa thought.

We park and begin our short little hike through the snow in the freezing Breckenridge weather to spot elk and other wildlife. We get to this beautiful overlook of a completely frozen lake and I tell Daniel that we need a picture. Daniel was behind me and on his knee!! It quickly turned into an engagement photoshoot as a photographer was hiding in the trees capturing all of the excitement and love. It was the sweetest proposal and a complete surprise.

That day was absolutely amazing and even better when we picked the boys up from snowboarding school. Daniel got on his knee again and asked the boys if he could marry their mommy and become part of our family. The boys smiled so big and were very excited. We are all so extremely happy!
