Grant and Alison have been together since 2016. Please enjoy this timeline of some of our most favorite memories to follow along with the growth of our relationship (and Grant's hair)!
Grant and Alison met during their sophomore year at UNC-Chapel Hill. There is quite a bit of lore to the beginning of our friendship, but we must thank Nick's commitment to intramural basketball and Grant's endless need for Alison's wise and patient tutoring in economics.
Grant and Alison started dating, with quite a few of those dates occurring at their college bar - He's Not Here.
A moment of remembrance for one of the best days of our lives. Go Heels!!
Grant and Alison graduated from UNC in May of 2017. This also started the long-distance portion of their relationship. Alison moved to Washington D.C. in June of 2017 while Grant started his job at Cisco in Durham, NC.
In between starting their first "big kid" jobs and traveling between NC and D.C. to spend time together, Grant and Alison went on their first international trip together to Germany and Ireland! Don't bother asking Grant about Oktoberfest, he doesn't remember it ;)
In 2019, Alison left D.C. and hiked the Pacific Crest Trail! Grant came out and joined her for 100-miles in the Oregon portion, with minimal blisters!
Our sweet Eno Beano was adopted!! We haven't shut up about her since.
In the midst of COVID and social distancing, Grant and Alison moved in together!
Grant and Alison spent Sept of 2021 in Bend, Oregon. We spent the month hiking, eating, and drinking as much Oregon craft beer as possible.
In 2022, they spent two-weeks exploring Alaska and are still dreaming about the salmon caesar salad they ate for lunch every day.
Grant and Alison spent June and July exploring Colorado, attending the Eras Tour in Denver (this might beat the UNC championship win in 2017 for Alison), and again - trying all the craft beer they could.
Grant proposed to Alison on the top of Shortoff Mountain after a night of camping at Lake James State Park. Afterwards (as if a proposal wasn't enough!!) he whisked her off to a romantic weekend in Asheville.
Alison proposed back to Grant with a watch and a pint glass at their favorite neighborhood bar, Der Nach Bar.
