Our Wedding

Our story began in June 2023 when we matched on a dating app. Alison was preparing to move to Nebraska for college, while Joshua was working in Wichita at Andale Construction and traveling home most weekends to help on the family farm. Ironically, neither of us downloaded the app with serious intentions—but fate had other plans! Joshua messaged Alison first, and their conversation quickly turned to farming and ranching. From there, we were hooked! As we got to know each other, we realized just how small the world really is. Though we grew up more than 2.5 hours apart, we discovered countless connections between our lives, especially through our big families. It didn’t take long to realize how similar we were—and how aligned our dreams for the future were. That summer, we made the most of our time together before Alison moved away for school. Less than a month after meeting, Alison joined Joshua at the annual Wessling Fourth of July party, and a few weeks later, she attended her first Hollerich Family Reunion. Surrounded by the love and laughter of a big family, Alison knew this was forever. After her first semester, Alison realized college wasn’t the right path for her. She moved back home and began working on a pig farm just 10 minutes from where she grew up. Meanwhile, Joshua, still working in Wichita, was eager to move back home and start building his future. In March 2024, Joshua bought a house in Beloit, where he could work remotely and be closer to family and friends. After some thought, Alison decided to join him, moving to Beloit in May. Just a few weeks later, on May 17th, Joshua got down on one knee in a field where he would begin farming and asked Alison to marry him. Of course, she said yes! Today, we are happily building our lives together in Beloit. Joshua runs Hollerich Services, focusing on dirt work and manure spreading, while also helping local farmers with harvest and working as a seed salesman for Seitec. Alison teaches at a daycare with USD 273, where she started with two-year-olds and now leads a preschool classroom. We love our life here and can’t wait to see what the future holds!
