Father to the modern university, Thomas Jefferson created the Lawn and Rotunda to be the center of academic and personal life at the University of Virginia. His vision has since been repeated on campuses around the world.
For those who've never been the Lawn is a historical location worthy of an Instagram post. For those who've bared it all on the Lawn a visit could be the perfect opportunity for quiet rumination on old mistakes, or new challenges.
Bocce ball will also be available at the hotel for anyone who wishes to play on the Lawn.
Former wrestlers and anyone practicing jiu-jitsu are welcome to roll around Friday from 3pm-5pm in the U.Va. Wrestling Room.
Rehearsal dinner to follow.
The plantation residence of Thomas Jefferson, 3rd President of the United States, Monticello is a UNESCO World Heritage site and the home visible on the tail's side of the U.S. nickel.
Tours come highly recommended with tickets at $25 for adults and $8-$16 for children, depending on age.
Located at the Boar's Head Inn, Birdwood is a challenging 18-hole course only minutes from the hotel. Clubs and carts are available for rent. Drinking and smoking cigars on the course is highly encouraged.
