Late on this Monday night, Alison and Jason matched on Tinder. Jason had "super-liked" her photo and she liked him back after noticing he had a photo posted with what she thought were his cows (not his cows :(). The two of them talked non-stop for 3 days until Jason took Alison on their first date. They went to a comedy show together so Jason could get a sense of Alison's humor. Lets just say it was a perfect match because they then spent the next 3 days together. On February 19th, Jason asked Alison to be his girlfriend. She initially hesitated and said no since she knew she was moving to Michigan for one year, but lets just say he had her wrapped around his finger because she woke up the next morning and said YES!

The two of them began their long distance relationship in February as Alison had to move back to San Francisco for 9 weeks for an internship, but that didn't stop their love growing for each other. They spent as much time as possible talking on the phone, facetiming and taking turns traveling to each other. When Alison went back to school in Oregon for 6 weeks, the two of them took a trip to Seattle. This trip was the moment both of them knew they couldn't imagine their lives with out the other, and their relationship really started to take off.

Alison moved to Detroit, MI on May 31, 2019. For the next year, two of them would be going after their careers and doing the long distance thing from Vancouver, WA to Detroit. They took turns visiting each other ever 3-5 weeks. Jason took Alison to see her favorite country band, Old Dominion, in concert on one of her trips to see him. It is still one of the highlights of their relationship to Alison.

Alison took Jason to Disneyland to show him how the Kentris family took on Disney and what to expect in all of the trips we would take there in the future. The two of them had an absolute blast. As soon as Disneyland was over, Jason looked at Alison and said "so when are we going to Disneyworld?" She knew she found the one when he could keep up with her Disney obsession.

Jason and Alison went to Frankenmuth, MI to celebrate their 1 year anniversary. The two of them really knew how to make the long distance relationship work. 6 months to go until Alison was able to move back to Vancouver, and the two of them were already counting down the days.

Alison moved back to Vancouver on July 3rd and the two of them moved in together and were able to start their non-distance relationship. Talk about a honeymoon stage all over again! Alison graduated with her Doctorate with Jason by her side. He had been her rock throughout her residency and schooling. They were ready to take on the next adventure!

Jason and Alison adopted a puppy named Sullivan and bought a house in Vancouver. Alison started her new job and Jason became a detective. Talk about a great end to a pandemic year!

We celebrated on 2 year anniversary in the typical PNW fashion: a long hike and dinner on the Columbia River.

Jason and Alison got engaged at Jason's family cabin in Cougar, WA. It was pouring rain and there wasn't any other human in sight. It was just perfect, and the rest is history!
