Alison and Austen met on the dating app Hinge in May 2023. After a few messages about golf and pickleball, Austen asked Alison out for drinks at the Hobbyist. There they connected over their love of beer and SEC sports while Alison's coworkers spied on them from a few tables away.

Since then, they have explored nearly all the breweries in Charlotte (which is a lot), danced the night away at concerts, and traveled near and far with friends and family.

On February 3rd, 2025, Austen made the best decision of his life and asked Alison to marry him.
