In 2020, Alison told her best friends that she had "a man crush" on this guy named Mike.

Apparently, and unbeknownst to them, they realized when Michael picked Ali up for their first "date", that they quite literally lived directly across the street from one another.

Ali and Michael went on about three dates together. While they enjoyed each other's company, Ali left each date telling her friends she did not think Michael was interested. Michael, being the last to know, thought Ali was just being friendly.

It wasn't until a few "dates" later, that Michael told his lifelong best friend, Jenna, that he hung out with Ali. Jenna (thank GOD for Jenna!) told Michael, "She likes you, you idiot!" If you know Michael at all, you shouldn't be surprised to hear that. He was the last to know! From there on out, their story continued on for 3 years.

On April 7, 2023, Michael asked Alison her weekend plans and told her he wanted a fishing day in Fort Pierce that Saturday, April 8, 2023. Fort Pierce was the first fishing getaway these two went on together years back.

Alison said, "Nope, I have plans with Cate (her best friend and now maid of honor!). We're taking Thumper (Cate's dog) to a park. I won't cancel on my friend!" Little did Alison or Cate know that Michael had planned on proposing to her that day.

Michael and Alison drove down to Fort Pierce on Sunday, April 9, 2023 and Michael ended up proposing to Alison at their first weekend fishing getaway spot out on a dock on the water. She was the last to know.

Ali and Michael's famous line to each other is "you are my certain person."

And the rest is history!
