The Story of Alissa and Lucas

It all started over three years ago...&nbsp; On August 22nd, 2015 we&nbsp;met at the Foundry in Westport, Kansas City.&nbsp; &nbsp;We ended up talking for hours about family, travel, sports, and Alissa encouraged Lucas to set plans to hang out the next week ;).&nbsp; The next few months we hung out more and more.&nbsp; We went on a lot of day trips, explored local festivities, a lot of frustrating (but fun)&nbsp;golf games, and meeting each others friends and family.&nbsp;&nbsp; After&nbsp;learning more about each other Lucas took a big leap of faith and invited Alissa to his family condo in Branson, MO to go golfing and see the sites.&nbsp; &nbsp;Alissa played a phenomenal round of golf and that's when Lucas knew he had fallen&nbsp;in love.&nbsp; Alissa invited Lucas to Lake Geneva to meet her family and attend her brothers wedding.&nbsp; This was a huge step because Lucas had the privilege of meeting Alissa's ENTIRE family and didn't miss a beat.&nbsp; Our relationship continued and our love for each other was growing with time.&nbsp; It was at this point&nbsp;we came to a cross roads in our relationship as Alissa received a job offer in Madison, WI.&nbsp; She knew she couldn't leave Kansas City without him... So of course, Alissa&nbsp;asked Lucas&nbsp;to leave everything he knew and come take a chance on us in Wisconsin.&nbsp; He said yes and our moving adventure began.&nbsp; We moved on April 15th, 2017 and had a blast discovering Madison together.&nbsp; Alissa loved being close to family and we traveled back to Kansas City as often as we could to spend time with Lucas's family as well.&nbsp; Everything was going great but there was something missing...&nbsp; During the summer of 2018, the Millers invited Alissa on their family vacation to Bar Harbor, Maine.&nbsp; We were so excited to go see the East coast and spend time together with the Millers.&nbsp; Little did Alissa know, she was about to become one! On Wednesday, August 29th, 2018 Lucas woke Alissa up at 4am to take a hike to see the sunrise.&nbsp; As you can probably imagine, Alissa was not overly excited to be getting up for a strenuous hike at 4am.&nbsp; Regardless, we made it to the trailhead and started heading up the BeeHive Trail in Acadia National Park.&nbsp; Lucas was very encouraging of Alissa as he was running up the mountain.&nbsp; Alissa was very confused as to why we needed to be running and continued her less than enthused demeanor.&nbsp;&nbsp; We finally made it to the top, just in time for the sunrise.&nbsp; It was breath taking (literally).&nbsp; One of the most gorgeous views either of us had ever seen.&nbsp; As Alissa turned around to ask for some water, she found Lucas down on one knee as he asked her to be his wife.&nbsp; It was the best moment of our lives... so far.&nbsp; The Millers and Martins&nbsp;all knew Lucas was proposing&nbsp;and both families&nbsp;celebrated with us over the next days and weeks.&nbsp; &nbsp;We got right to planning our big day and it's been a blast.&nbsp; We&nbsp;are so blessed to have you, our&nbsp;family, friends, and mentors and we&nbsp;can't wait to celebrate our relationship and marriage with you!
