Dillon and Ali were acquaintances in middle school, they actually were in the same gym class together. Years later they met through mutual friends in high school. After high school, Dillon went on to play football for Millikin University and Ali went to a Jr. College while working a part time job. Over fall break, Ali ran into Dillon at Skooters (their favorite local bar) and drunkingly asked Dillon if he was single. Dillon was oblivious to Ali hitting on him and of course she then followed with a few Facebook pokes to really get Dillons attention. Dillon finally grew enough courage to ask Ali out. But unfortunately at that time they came to a conclusion that they were better off as good friends. They went their separate ways.

And as we all know how God has his way of working things out...

Ali and Dillon ran into each other again. This time they were inseparable. After many months, their connection became more than just a friendship and they made it official.

Fast forward to 3 years later. Ali and Dillon went to Florida to help Ali's parents move into their beach home. They were all going out for dinner to celebrate Ali's belated birthday. Dillon and Ali’s parents saw a pier near the restaurant and wanted to walk down it before dinner. Ali being Ali, she was hangry and wanted nothing to do with that pier. They all started walking down the pier anyway so Ali was forced to follow. Dillon thought it would be a good idea to take pictures since were dressed up and in a cute spot. In the middle of taking pictures, Dillon turned, looked right at Ali and he grabbed her to pull her in tighter and told her how much he loved her. One thing led to another and Dillon got on his knee and proposed to Ali!
