In April 2021, Ben and Alissa's paths crossed in the lively city of Chicago. Alissa went to Michigan State University with Ben's younger sister Abbey, and one night out at a local bar, Abbey decided to introduce them. Abbey had a hunch they'd hit it off, and she couldn't have been more right.

Their first meeting was full of laughs and great conversation, setting the stage for something special. Alissa was instantly taken by Ben's wit and charm, and Ben couldn’t help but admire Alissa’s warmth and genuine smile. They clicked right away, and it wasn’t long before they planned their first date.

For their first date, Ben took Alissa to a brewery—no surprise if you know Ben’s love for beer. They had an amazing evening, trying different brews and discovering their many shared interests. It was a night full of laughs and a great connection.

As they spent more time together, Ben and Alissa discovered they had a lot in common. They love exploring the city, taking long walks by the lake, and enjoying Chicago tavern-style pizza. Ben introduced Alissa to his love for the Cubs on their third date, and now she’s a full-fledged fan too. They attend about 15 games a season, no matter the weather.

Their shared love for travel has led to many adventures, including a memorable trip to Europe in the fall of 2023. They explored Berlin, celebrated Oktoberfest in Munich, and visited Dublin and Galway in Ireland.

In January 2024, Ben orchestrated a beautiful proposal at the Thompson Hotel in downtown Chicago. He had arranged a private room decorated with soft lighting, pictures of them together, flowers, and champagne, creating a romantic setting. Alissa was filled with joy and surprise, and couldn’t hold back her tears of happiness. That night, Alissa was too emotional to eat, but Ben, having been too nervous to eat for days, made up for it with a big dinner. The celebration continued the next day at brunch when both of their families surprised them to share in their joy.

As they look forward to their future together, Ben and Alissa are excited to embark on the next chapter of their lives. They dream of building a life filled with love, adventure, and endless Cubs games.
