Most of you know Mike and I as just that......Mike and Ali or Ali and Mike aka always together. But surprisingly enough (as our college friends can attest) Mike and I were not always this way. From the fated V-tech game sophomore year of college, when we first met (with rather large headaches lingering from the night before) neither of us can attest to love at first sight. The next year and a half consisting of study sessions, community clubs, trash bag sledding and movie marathons brought us closer. But it was not until our very special friend Justin's 21st birthday party, that (with the help of a little liquid courage) Mike felt brave enough to ask me very innocently "Who do you have a crush on?!" After many days of poking and prodding and some very confused close friends, Mike and I decided to make it official. We went on our first "official" date at the Double Wide Grill in Southside, where I was nervous of what to order at a BBQ joint not wanting to make a mess on our first date.....that is until Mike ordered the TV dinner Rack of Ribs and then I had no problems choosing something less messy. Even though it was certainly sticky, Mike always cleans up well and knows how to impress. And I think that goes to show after all the ups and downs and "messes" we experienced over the next three years. We always find a way to pick each other up, clean off the dirt and keep moving forward together. "Ironically" enough, it was three and a half years later at that same grill that Mike and I sat, ate our sloppy lunch then rode up the Duquesne Incline and got engaged. We are so grateful for every moment we have been able to share together and every adventure the future holds for us. Most importantly our Wedding that we get to share with all of you!
