Our Wedding

It was the spring of 2019, Samantha (sister to Adam, maid of honor to Alix) decided to play matchmaker. She had a new work friend, Alix, who had seen a picture of Adam and thought he was attractive, she knew Adam hadn’t been in a relationship in a long time, so said she could set it up if Alix wanted. Adam begrudgingly accepted, something he had never done, he wasn’t much for dating or social interactions, the butterfly effect in full effect. Both Adam and Alix almost cancelled their date, but they got over nerves, or fear, or whatever plagued them at the time and met. 5 hours later they finally decided to call it a night, it was around midnight, they shared one incredibly awkward first kiss and went on their way, both calling Sam right after to share how fun it had been and how much they enjoyed each other’s company. Dating ensued, Adam loved Alix so much multiple times a week he would travel downtown to Alix’s apartment and deal with the traffic, parking, and overcrowding of people he loathes. Alix loved Adam so much she dealt with him on an everyday basis. About a year and a few months into dating they moved into a side-by-side in Wauwatosa together with their dog Kyra (see the picture section), Alix eventually convinced Adam to go back to school for his bachelors (his final semester is Spring 2022) and they both decided to add some excitement to their home life in the form of a cat named Carlos (also see the picture section). Adam proposed with her and his family waiting outside their little apartment in the dead of winter, right there in the living room, marking January 30th, 2020, as a day that will live forever, at least in their personal record books. Their landlord decided to sell the place, the new landlord was looking to move into their side of the building, so they had a few months to find other lodging, they stupidly decided to quickly buy a house. With a little bit of luck, they now live on the other side of Wauwatosa in a beautiful home, with the most beautiful dog, and they still have the cat. We’re incredibly excited to have all of you celebrate this day with us, we appreciate everyone who is traveling, taking time off work, or otherwise rearranging their schedule to be with us, it truly means the world.&nbsp;

If you would like to stay at the Grand Geneva we do have a large block of rooms as long as they are still available. We have found it is easiest to call the Grand Geneva and give them the name of Thornton/Van Rens wedding and you will receive a discounted rate.
