Aliyah and Harry met in the summer of 2022, at ArcBest, in the Pricing department. Aliyah was starting her first internship, and two days later Harrison started his first real job after college.
If you were a fly on the wall, you may be able to pinpoint the moment things began to shift between Harry and Aliyah. Maybe it was the day Harry said Aliyah had big eyes and she tried to squint the rest of the day. Maybe it was the day Harry and Aliyah playfully argued, then after a Google search, Aliyah admitted she was wrong. Or maybe it was the day chocolate water poured out of the building. They don't know when things began to change, but they did; most definitely for the better!
Harry eventually asked Aliyah on a date and things just started flowing after that. They found shared interests and values in each other, which ignited new passions in each of them and also between them. They found balance together, between Harrison's cool, go-with-the-flow personality, and Aliyah's firey, spirited attitude. A push and pull, a sway, a rhythm; that they have created and nurtured together.
What Harry and Aliyah have is a beautiful song to dance to and prove to each other that they were meant to be.
Harrison had planned a romantic dinner with Aliyah for her Birthday in Turks and Caicos. His original plan, was to propose prior to this dinner to make it a night to remember. While confidently booking this reservation, he failed to realize it conflicted with his Birthday gift to Aliyah -- a sunset horseback ride. Harrison decided to move the proposal to a brunch, and propose early in the morning.
Harrison told Aliyah to put on her favorite white dress, the same dress that he asked Aliyah to be his girlfriend in, a short two years prior. He told Aliyah that the resturaunt was a short walk away, only to get to the proposal spot, a beautiful archway at a nearby resort. In the mean time, Tina, Harrison's mother, was camping out to capture the entire proposal on video.
Upon entering the archway. Harrison told Aliyah to stop, and his Mom to come out. Aliyah had no idea that this was going to happen, but Harrison confidently got down on one knee, and forgot everything he had planned to say.
Aliyah and Harrison have created a rhythm that they can dance to for the rest of their lives. That rhythm includes donut runs, dog walks in the park, lots and lots of board games, deep talks about space, and spending time with those that love them. It also includes many hours of playtime with Hank and Lucy, their star dachshunds!
With this rhythm, Harrison will never have to learn how to sew a button back on and Aliyah will never have to learn how to use a pressure washer. Harry will always have to take the pizza off the oven rack and Aliyah will always be the one to take care of the spider.
Because of this rhythm, Aliyah and Harrison will forever lean on and love each other.
