Our Story
The story of how it all began!
Aliyah and Jake first crossed paths during Aliyah's sophomore year and Jake's senior year in high school, a chance encounter that quickly (emphasis on quickly!) grew into a deep connection. As Jake’s graduation approached, they faced the reality of a long-distance relationship that would last many, MANY years. The road was anything but easy—filled with late-night calls, missed events, and countless moments of wishing they were together. Yet, through it all, they stood by each other's side, becoming each other's biggest supporters. Now, after years of commitment and perseverance, these high school sweethearts are ready to get married, YAY!

Jake & Aliyah take their very first selfie together, just days after officially meeting each other.
February 11, 2017
Just 3 weeks later, Jake decides to ask Aliyah to be his girlfriend and turns out, she said yes!!

The two celebrate their "6 month anniversary" in the Florida Keys on their first vacation together! This trip started the yearly tradition of visiting the Florida Keys during lobster opening weekend!
August 19, 2017
Moving Jake in at Midwestern State University for the start of college. This is the start of long-distance for Aliyah and Jake.
July 13, 2018
Their first of many trips together to Saint John, USVI. This is the where Jake will propose to Aliyah 6 years later!
September 14, 2018
Aliyah begins her senior year at Alvord High School. Jake drove home from college every Friday to support Aliyah cheering at the football games and to spend the weekend with her!

The two go on their first river trip to New Braunfels with Aliyah's soon-to-be college roommates!

Jake graduates with his degree from Tarleton State University. See ya later, Stephenville!

Every Easter morning, the two go on a turkey hunt together! This is one of their most favorite mornings spent together each year.

Aliyah is officially a Texas A&M University graduate!
July 30, 2022
Jake & Aliyah move to Oklahoma together to both begin their master's degree at the University of Oklahoma. This is officially the end of long distance (for now!!).

The PROPOSAL in Saint John, USVI! Jake was so intentional in finding the perfect spot to propose. Every night while visiting, the two go on a "date" to watch the sunset. The beach he proposed at, is the only beach on island with a direct view of the sunset.
May 11, 2024
Jake graduates with his Masters of Geology from the University of Oklahoma. Soon, he will move to Midland, where he will begin his full time job. Long distance begins, once again, for the two.
