On the evening of Sunday, April 19th, 2020, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Aliyah and Tony's love story began on a zoom call in celebration of their loved one, Jayla’s, birthday. Even though Jayla was Tony’s cousin and Aliyah’s line sister, Tony and Aliyah had never met or seen each other. As Tony was on the zoom call, he noticed an exceptionally gorgeous woman. Of course, this woman was Aliyah. After witnessing Aliyah’s undeniably organic beauty and personality, Tony decided to pursue her. He made great attempts to strike up a conversation with her until the Zoom call suddenly ended. Soon thereafter, Tony endeavored to find Aliyah's Instagram information and instantly messaged her desiring to learn more about her. The exchange of messages on Instagram lasted for days until Aliyah finally shared her number.

Being that Tony was living in Charlotte, NC, and Aliyah in Nashville, TN, the two conversed constantly via text and phone. Aliyah and Tony even scheduled FaceTime dates during which the two would drink wine and talk for hours on end. After weeks of FaceTime dates and endless texts, Aliyah and Tony agreed on meeting in person. On May 7th, 2020, the couple met in Knoxville, TN. Since that day the two have been inseparable and dangerously in love. The couple was so passionate about each other that bi-weekly trips to Knoxville became religious. It was clear that this was no ordinary love.

On June 19th, 2020, Tony wrote a letter to Aliyah confessing his profound love for her, and on that day the couple officially became an item. A few weeks later Tony found a job opportunity in Nashville and relocated. Now in the same city, the couple continued to fall deeper in love. Six days short of their one-year anniversary, on June 13th, 2021, Tony proposed at Centennial Park in Nashville. With tear-filled eyes, Aliyah said yes. Currently, the couple resides in Prince George's County, Maryland as Tony finishes up the MBA/MSW dual master's program at Howard University in Washington, DC.
