Jake and Allee met at Azusa Pacific University in January of 2023. Prior to meeting, Jake knew he wanted to go back to school after serving five years in the U.S. Coast Guard to finish his degree. Meanwhile, Allee was already attending APU on an athletic scholarship for acrobatics and tumbling. Both felt APU was where the Lord was calling them to be.

Jake had just enrolled at APU in the spring semester when he met Allee. They ended up having every class together that first semester of his. Jake and Allee found one another cute, however, Allee didn't consider Jake anything more than a good friend at the time. Jake on the other hand liked Allee, and even made a subtle move to ask her out on a date. Not realizing it was intended to be a date, Allee invited her friend to tag along. Their plans ended up changing, but Jake and Allee remained friends through the summer that followed.

The next year started, Allee changed her major, and Jake realized he wouldn't have class with her anymore. About a year after meeting, Jake made his intentions known and asked Allee on their first date. December 2, 2023 marked Jake and Allee's first date.

Jake and Allee became official a month later on January 2, 2024. Over the course of their relationship they've seen God work in ways that were discerning for their future. On December 21st Jake proposed and Allee said "YES!"
