<p>Nik and I met through my sister Emily and brother in law Reid. Nik and Reid are best friends and have been since they were little. Nik and I first met when I was 15 and he was 20. We didn't really get to know each other until the summer of 2019 when Emily and Reid got married. I was one of Emily's maid of honors and Nik was one of Reids Best men, so we actually walked down the isle together and now we get to do it again but this time for our wedding. 2019-2020 was my freshman year of college. I spent a lot of time at Emily and Reids house and so did Nik, so through out that whole year we really got to know each other well, especially once I started living with them in March of 2020 after getting kicked out of the dorms due to Covid. In the fall of 2020 was when Nik and I started to "talk" as us young people say. We would hang out at Emily and Reids every weekend to spend time together. in November we decided that it was time to venture out of just hanging out together at Emily and Reids so we had out first date on 11/2/2020. On December 3rd after finding out through my sister that in fact Nik and I were dating we decided to make it official. To make that a little less confusing Nik was telling his whole family that we were dating but forgot to tell me this information and I was told by my sister who had heard it from Kari, Niks mom that we were dating. I called Nik and asked him about it, so we decided to just make our anniversary the date that we talked about it on which was 12/3/2020. </p>

How We Met 

<p>Soooo anyone that knows me knows that I love surprises but I also hate surprises...meaning that if I know there is going to be a surprise I will do anything to figure out what it is, but if I don't know there is going to be a surprise then I love them. Anyways long story sorry! I found out about the ring on accident. Nik and I were in town doing separate things and I just so happened to get stopped at the stop light next to Ken K Thompson the jewelry store and what do I do well of course I look over at the store and see Nik's truck in the parking lot. This was 3 days before we were supposed to leave for our trip to North Carolina so of course I'm freaking out thinking i'm getting engaged on our trip, I had told him I always wanting something special not just the typical proposal so I thought there is no way this isn't happening, but it didn't happen. A month or so goes by and i'm still waiting cause anyone that knows Nik we are running on Kav time lol. Finally after me asking over and over for him to do it and not worry about that I had wanted someone hiding taking photos during the proposal, so he would just propose already it happened. On 7/7/23 we were going to go out for dinner, with me knowing about the ring every time we did something I would get dressed up incase, ya know like any girl would do in my situation. I was getting ready and Nik went in the basement with Indy our puppy and I was thinking what are they doing down there so I yelled down to him and he claimed he was making sure she didn't have any accidents down there, that made sense to me so I went a long with my business, they came back up stairs and I was waiting for him to finish getting ready which was taking forever which is very unlike Nik so I walked into the bedroom and he's sitting there petting Indy, I got annoyed and said what are you doing i'm hungry lets go, so I walked back out to the living room to wait. They both finally came walking out of the bed room I was standing by the door at this point ready to walk out the door, Indy walked up to me I picked her up to give her kisses and then put her in the Kennel and I see she has the ring on her collar. He took it off and then asked me to marry him, I said yes, of course. Afterwards Nik said that he was going to video tape the whole thing because I had been wanting pictures of the engagement, but he couldn't get that coordinated so thats what took so long for the engagement to happen lol typical boy, but he forgot his phone down stairs while he was trying to get the ring on Indy's collar. To my surprise he did end up surprising me because I assumed he would do it during or after dinner that night not before. After the proposal we got to go have a nice dinner to celebrate and talk about our future plans together. It turned out to be very cute, special, and definitely more of how I would have expected it to go coming from Nik (a not so romantic guy).</p>
