To say I’ve known Alli for a long time would be an understatement. If my memory serves right, I first met Alli during an assembly at Northview elementary school. If you ask her, I was probably the pretty weird kid telling her that her hair smelled nice (lol). But that’s gotta be considered kind of cute right?
Fast forward to 8th grade. I can remember having the BIGGEST crush on Alli, but let’s just say I wasn’t the smoothest 13 year old ever. Somehow someway I convinced her to say yes to the boyfriend girlfriend question. We dated for a couple years and we eventually found our way back to each other towards the end of high school.
That was the start of next 8 best years of my life. Alli and I ended up at Missouri State together. I could never describe how grateful I am to have been able to spend those years with my best friend. All of the food dates, movies, tailgates, fraternity parties mixed with a little bit of studying made our time together so special.
When we moved back to KC, we finally got to move in together. Even though we basically saw each other everyday before that, it just wasn’t the same. Getting to build a home and a life together (and raise our little Rosie) has been amazing. I’ve always known how special Alli is, but the past 8 years has shown me why a lifetime with her would be the greatest gift. This past July, I proposed to Alli on the rooftop of the Power and Light building. From weird 2nd grader, to boyfriend and girlfriend, to fiancés, I can say I’m so excited to get to call Alli my wife. They say great things take time, and I can tell you that the time is great when you have someone special to spend it with. We can’t wait to share our special day with all of our family and friends.
