We met back in 2015 when we both got hired in to the same EMS department. We were regular partners from the begining and have worked well together for years. We have always leaned on each other to get through the hard days and the hard calls. We were close friends and coworkers for 10 years before life took an unexpected turn for both of us. We decided to give "us" a shot in November of 2023. Building a relationship with someone that for years you have counted on, trusted, and worked side by side through the hardest of days, was one of the easiest things for us to do.
One of our first dates we found ourselves driving down the Mason track and we stumbled across one of my favorite spots in the woods. The Mason chapel in the woods. If you've never been there, it's this tiny church overlooking the river half a mile hike up hill through the woods. It is a beautiful place that I will always adore. That is where a year and a half later, we got engaged.
Our love story isn't perfect, but it's ours and it's my favorite story.
