Matt's older brother, and the only Deters brother with the skill to grow an excellent beard. He is most well known for being the only brother with a hole in one and least well known for his clutch game winning shot in the legendary Deters Vs basketball game.

Matt's youngest brother. Don't be fooled by the age differential; he could easily take Matt or Jack in a fight with years of JuJitsu prowess! You better stretch if you are getting into a dance battle with this young gun.

Hannah claims to be Allie’s first friend. Allie claims she taught Hannah how to say “yellow”.

A fellow Dayton engineer most well known for his infatuation with structural transportation solutions. Matt and Brian have spent many a calculus lecture and EDM festival side by side. Survivor of the Prime Rib Incident (2024).

Alex knew instantly they would be friends for life after he saw the stylish plaid shorts Matt wore during freshman orientation at Dayton. They traveled the world together with fellow groomsman Craig and left no stone unturned exploring Dublin's Mexican cuisine.

Matt and Craig have spent their friendship in pursuit of athletic excellence. It is hardly a competition as Craig defeated Matt handily in a 100 day workout challenge and recently completed an Iron Man (Beast). They shared close quarters at Dayton in a 7 man house sharing a room with a reverse half bath.....shower only :/

Abigail and Allie’s friendship was born at the peanut-free lunch table in 4th grade, despite neither of them having a peanut allergy.

Matt and Connor's friendship has been built on a love of sports and fine beverages. People are still talking about his legendary 9 hole round to seal the hardware in the 2021 South Park CC Member Guest. Luck was not on their side as they "stimulated the economy" during their boys trip to the Talking Stick Casino and Resort.

Sami and Allie met while Allie was guest playing in a soccer tournament for Mockingbird (ew). Thankfully they both came to their senses and can now brag for the rest of their lives about their time on #JSquad

Soon after his engineering career started at UD, Scott was captured by the magic of flight that can only be felt in the City of Dayton. A life long student and lover of literature, Scott was moved after reading a memoir of Amelia Earhart and decided to take his talents to the sky training to be a pilot! Matt convinced him to do some work on the ground recently as they trekked over the rolling hills of Red River Gorge.

When Mary Elizabeth moved to Kentucky in 8th grade she beat many boys in arm wrestling and Allie knew they needed to be friends.

John and Matt began their friendship in high school going on adventures that were anything but ordinary. When old and grey, they will tell tales of midnight road trips through blizzards, summiting the famous HOLLYWOOD sign, and authoring/illustrating a one-of-one children's story.

The airport is approximately 30 minutes from the hotel.

Drury Inn & Suites Louisville North

Buses will be available to take everyone back to the Drury following the reception. We recommend that you use a ride-share platform to get to Zion Hill. There is free overnight parking available at Zion Hill.

Get an authentic bourbon experience at Buffalo Trace! In Matt’s opinion, the 45 minute drive is well worth it. All of the tastings and tours are complimentary and you can often get an allocated bottle (Blantons, Weller, Eagle Rare, EH Taylor) or two if you get there early. Tours book up as soon as they go online several months in advance. Tastings can be done as walk-ins.

Buffalo Trace Distillery

Recreate Matt and Allie’s second date by going for a walk in Cherokee Park! If you want to really relive the moment, you can give your significant other a kiss then run away from each other.

Visit the place Matt and Allie had their first date. Try the Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip, you won’t regret it.

Although racing will not be in season at Churchill, The Kentucky Derby Museum offers a thorough 😉 racing experience. It offers two floors of exhibits celebrating the history and tradition of the world-famous horse race. Admission includes a guided walking tour of Churchill Downs and a 360-degree movie presentation

Walk over the Ohio River to Indiana and visit some fun restaurants and bars! Grab a pizza at Parlour or a cocktail at Union Game Yard where Matt is undefeated against Allie in trash can beer pong.

Big Four Walking Bridge

If you're looking to spend a day at the races while you're in Kentucky, Opening Day at Keeneland is Friday, October 2nd. This is about 1.5 hours from Louisville and is a full day event. Look for tickets to go on sale mid August, they usually sell out so you will want to buy in advance.
